HOPE is a charity providing support to parents and carers through parent mentoring and parenting courses and workshops.

At HOPE we understand that being a parent or carer isn’t always easy and sometimes it may become challenging as children grow and develop, resulting in their needs constantly changing. All of our services are designed to support and encourage families to feel valued whilst building upon existing skills to improve communication, develop self-esteem and to reduce tension which will enhance the general well-being of the family. Our current courses and workshops include:

Living with a Teenager
Anger Management
Internet Safety
Motivating Our Children to Learn
Parenting with Positive Discipline
Parenting-Pre-teens
Sibling Rivalry
Bullying
Setting Limits and Defining Boundaries
Our Facilitators and Mentors have been professionally trained and are all parents themselves, this makes them well equipped to understand any concerns that parents or carers may have. Through their specialised training and extensive experiences our Facilitators and Mentors offer a supportive, non-judgmental and confidential service. Parents and carers can benefit from our range of courses and workshops which are easily accessible within the community and most importantly are affordable. Parent mentoring is available in a range of local languages including:
English – Tamil – Arabic – Farsi – Kurdish (Surani) – Dari – Hindi – Urdu – Gujarati – French – Greek – Mandarin – Cantonese
Our courses are available to everyone and enable parents and carers to meet together to discuss ways to develop positive relationships, learn strategies to improve communication with their family and understand their children’s behaviour. A parent said “Many thanks for all the help, support and advice you have given me over the month. I believe that I have become a different mother, person and friend... thanks to HOPE.”

Our next parenting workshop "Anger Management" will be on Monday 7th December 2026, this is a workshop for all parents of children aged 3 to 11 years. This 2 hour workshop will be online on the 7th Dec at 7pm and will help you to improve your understanding of your childs anger and how to manage difficult behaviour and their emotions to create a happy cohesive home environment.

Hi all we have new parenting courses starting this term.

Stronger You- 7 week development course, a supportive and empowering course to help you build confidence to acheive your personal goals. Starts Wednesday 4th November 2026 9.30 am to 11.30 am, end date Wednesday 16th December 2026 this course is FREE.
Introduction to CBT- 5 week course, Increase your understanding of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy principles and how they can help you regognise negative or unhelpful thoughts and behavoiur patterns, Starts Monday 2nd November 26, 7pm to 9pm finish date Monday 30th November 2026

Big Topic! Sibling Rivalry. We have a new workshop that will look into sibling rivalry and how it impacts the family dynamics. We will cover some of the causes and identify ways to promote positive sibling relationships.
