Squirrels and Cubs: An Evening of Stories, Games and Fun! 📚🎲

Our Squirrels had a lovely evening with some special visitors from our Cub section!

We enjoyed fun games, listened to stories read by the Cubs and played board games together. It was wonderful to see our youngest members learning, sharing and having fun with the older children. A big thank you to our Cubs for joining us! 💛

The People Behind the Scouting 💙⚜️

Behind every adventure, camp, activity and unforgettable memory, there is a team of dedicated volunteers making it all happen.

Our leaders came together for a Leaders’ Weekend, taking time to connect, share ideas, learn from each other and prepare for more exciting adventures ahead. Scouting is about so much more than what happens on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday evening.

It takes time, teamwork, commitment and a lot of people working behind the scenes to give our young people the best experiences possible. This is the team behind the scenes. The people who give their time, energy and heart to make Scouting happen. 💙⚜️

Squirrels in the Park 🐿️🌳

Our Squirrels took their session outdoors yesterday and headed to the park for some fun and games. We enjoyed a range of activities, including parachute games, with Cat and Mouse being a particular favourite. We also had lots of fun playing Tag Rugby, getting everyone running, laughing and working together. It was great to see all our Squirrels getting involved and enjoying the activities. A fantastic afternoon in the park! 🐿️💚

Cubs Get Cycling with Harrow Cycle Hub 🚲

Our Cubs had a fantastic two-part cycling experience with Harrow Cycle Hub.

On Monday, Caroline and Janet joined us for a fun bike safety session, teaching the Cubs about staying safe, looking after their bikes and what to check before riding.

Today, 13 Cubs took part in a practical session with Caroline, Janet, Veronica, Naran and Darren. They learned how to check their bikes are safe, pump their tyres, and Darren helped with brake adjustments. They practised safely mounting and dismounting, braking, riding through cones and different bike skills before heading out around the park.

The Cubs also learned how to communicate with hand signals, ride safely in single file and give each other enough space while cycling.

A huge thank you to Harrow Cycle Hub and everyone who gave their time to make this such a fun and useful experience for our Cubs! 🚲👏

Scoring a winner with the Jack Petchey ⚽

Our Scouts and Cubs enjoyed an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience today with a private tour of Wembley Stadium!

This was made possible thanks to our Scout Kayan, who was awarded the Jack Petchey Achievement Award earlier this year for his infectious enthusiasm, friendly nature, and determination to never give up.

As a big football fan, he decided to share his love for the game by using his award grant to treat our Group to an amazing day out at the home of English football.

We are incredibly proud of Kayan - huge congratulations to him on his award, and a big thank you for enabling such a brilliant trip for everyone!

Jack Petchey Winner Laser-Focused on Fun! ☄️

Our Scouts were back in action today, proving once again that the adventure never stops! They headed to JumpIn Borehamwood for an exciting hour of laser tag, battling it out across three high-energy game modes.

After working up their appetite on the battlefield, the troop refueled over pizza! 🍕🎯

This fantastic outing was possible thanks to our very own Alex, who was awarded the Jack Petchey Achievement Award earlier this year and generously chose to treat the troop to an adventure. Huge congratulations to him, and a massive thank you for giving everyone a great time out.

New term, new adventures! ⛺

Our Scouts had a brilliant weekend of adventure and independence at our Scout-only camp.

They took full responsibility for their site - setting up tents, preparing meals, and striking camp as a team. In between chores, they challenged themselves on the low ropes, had fun in the tunnelling system, and ran a wide game, building confidence and outdoor skills along the way.

A huge well done to all our Scouts for stepping up to the challenge, and a massive thank you to our volunteers for planning and running such a great weekend! 👏

Kidchella wraps up another fantastic year at 6th Harrow Scout Group 🎉

Over 155 young people, parents and volunteers joined us for our end-of-year event, Kidchella, which turned our hall into a lively festival filled with music, games, crafts, food and fun.

We cheered on our young people moving up to their next sections, and celebrated Kieran and Diya for earning their Chief Scout's Silver Award - a fantastic achievement!

A massive thank you to our amazing volunteers and adults who made it all possible. The smiles and great feedback say it all, Kidchella 2026 was a huge success 🎉
