Cubs enjoyed a fantastic morning outdoors at Northala Fields 🥾🌿

Our Cubs completed a hike of approximately 3.1 miles (5km) this morning. They explored the hills, enjoyed the views, and worked brilliantly together throughout. A great way to build confidence, teamwork, and enjoy nature together! To finish off the hike, everyone enjoyed a well-earned ice cream 🍦😊 Well done to all of our Cubs 👏

What a bank holiday weekend! 🏕️

Our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts and their families headed to Tolmers Scout Camp & Activity Centre for an action-packed group camp over the May Bank Holiday.
Our young people tackled everything from kayaking, raft building, and pedalos to climbing, archery, and rifle shooting! We wrapped up the evenings the traditional way with a roaring campfire, songs, and plenty of marshmallows. We’ve all come home exhausted but with fantastic memories. Thanks to everyone who made it such a special weekend! ⚜️

Cubs Buzzing After Apiary Visit! 🐝

This evening, our Cubs had a fantastic visit to the HBKA Hatch End Apiary!

The Cubs got to wear beekeeping veils, visited the hives, and learned how a colony operates. Even with only a few bees visible, our Cubs had a brilliant time. A real highlight was making their own rolled beeswax candles to take home.

Huge thanks to Jo and Eileen from the Bee Association for hosting such an engaging and educational session, and well done to all Cubs for being curious and respectful!

Growing roots in the community🪾🌳

A huge thank you to our Scouts who sacrificed their Sunday morning to support their local community.
Together with Friends Of Headstone Manor Park and Lions Club our young people helped spruce up Headstone Manor Park and planted over 300 saplings, mulched the Orchard and went for a tour of the recently opened Copse.

A big thank you to Friends of Headstone Manor Park, OVO Energy and The Conservation Volunteers for enabling this event.

We had a brilliant time Easter Egg hunting 🥚🐣

Our Beavers and Cubs had a fantastic time at our Easter Egg Hunt organised in collaboration with The Stanmore Society team.

Held at Barnays Gardens in Stanmore, the event featured an exciting clue-based egg hunt, where our young people worked their way through a series of clues to complete their challenge. It was great to see everyone exploring, problem-solving, and enjoying the outdoors together.

A big thank you to The Stanmore Society team for working with us, it was a fantastic community event 🙏

Thank you for making a difference

We’re proud to share that 6th Harrow Scout Group recently took part in supporting the Bobor Pain Charity School of Hope in Sierra Leone.

The charity supports children who have been rescued from child labour and provides them with access to education and a brighter future.

Thanks to the generous donations from our young people and their families, a shipment of learning supplies, including books, stationery, and classroom essentials has now reached the school.

It’s fantastic to see the real impact of our community coming together, your contributions are already making a difference.
Thank you to everyone who donated and supported this initiative!

What a way to end the term!

Our Beavers and Cubs took over the Scout hut this weekend for an epic indoor sleepover. From sharpening their aim with junior axe throwing and archery to getting creative with gingerbread trains, the energy was high from start to finish!

We rounded off the night the best way we know how: with pizzas, toasting marshmallows and catching a movie before snuggling down in their tents. A huge well done to all our young people - see you next term!

What a way to beat the chill!

Our Scouts braved yesterday's chill with big smiles and even bigger hearts for our Crisis fundraiser.

We are absolutely blown away by their efforts. Not only did they reach our goal - they smashed it, raising an incredible £2,100 (excluding GiftAid)!

A massive thank you to our Scouts, their families, friends, and all our adults. Your goodwill is truly awe-inspiring, and we couldn't be prouder of our young people! ⚜️

Counting down to the 6th Harrow Sleepout! ⛺

Our Scouts are getting their kit ready! In less than 2 weeks, they’ll be heading "back to basics" for our Sleepout for Crisis.

Although we will do this in the safety of our compound, it’s a chance for our young people to experience a small part of what others face every night, while learning about the importance of empathy and community.

We’re proud of them for taking on the March chill for such a vital cause and if you’d like to cheer them on with a small donation, you can do so at the link below.

Our Squirrels are off to a flying start

Our Squirrels had a blast during their second session! We spent the evening crafting paper planes and putting them to the test with a flying game. Every Squirrel also decorated a personal token to hang on our new display and we’ll make sure all our future joiners get to add theirs too, so everyone feels right at home!
