Celebrating Volunteers Week 2026 with a throwback to this fascinating video. When we first shared it back in March, several people told us they hadn't realised that people with macular degeneration often 'see things'. It is a part of the condition that many don't know about - with people scared to admit their symptoms in case people thought they were 'going mad'. We know of at least one person who has taken reassuring information to a relative as a result of this video. Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers at MAB.

Did you know, for some people, there are WOLVES roaming the streets in Harrow?

Thank you to Gloria, Sylvia and the team at Middlesex Association for the Blind for inviting us to visit and sharing their fascinating stories.

One of Harrow Giving's Warm Hubs, MAB run a monthly coffee morning for people with Visual Impairment, and a home based befriending service.

Next session: 25th March. (The last Wednesday of each month)
Wealdstone Library, 38-40 High Street Wealdstone Harrow, HA3 7AE.
10:30am to 12:30pm

Last chance to see last years winners!

Before you submit your photo, you have until Fri 29 May to take some time to visit the exhibition of previous winners at Harrow Arts Centre. It’s a chance to see the creativity, stories and perspectives that have captured life in Harrow through the lens of local photographers.

Whether you’re an experienced photographer or entering for the first time, the exhibition is a great source of inspiration and a reminder that powerful images can come from everyday moments close to home.
