We have words that describe the person left behind after loss….a widow, an orphan …..and I’ve often thought about the fact that there is no word to describe the parent that loses a child but I came across this and it is heartbreakingly perfect 💔😔👼

We’re 79% of the Way There

Today, we wanted to share a small but incredibly meaningful milestone in our fundraising journey.

Thanks to the kindness, generosity, and support from our amazing community, we have now reached 79% of our fundraising target towards our mobile scanner. 🙏

Every donation, fundraiser, sponsored challenge, shared post, and conversation has helped bring us closer to this goal - and we truly could not do this without you.

Whilst to some it may seem like simply a piece of equipment, for the families we support it represents comfort, care, dignity, and the ability for us to continue supporting bereaved parents during some of life’s most heartbreaking moments.

As we move into the final stretch, we are continuing to gently ask for support to help us raise the remaining funds needed for this life-changing equipment.

As an entirely voluntary led charity we quite simply couldn’t keep supporting bereaved families without support like this! ☺️

We are so grateful we are able to supply the EPAU at Harrogate District Hospital with another batch of the beautiful Forget me not seed packets. 🤍

Too often parents who go through this heartbreak feel like their loss is invisible and their grief is missed. 🤍

We hope this small keepsake will bring a little comfort at such a sad time but also show that we see you and we see your grief. 🤍

We see you, we honour your babies, we honour your love and we recognise the immense strength and courage it takes to carry both grief and love side by side. ❤️

It is incredibly hard to not see little names at the bottom of a card so we would like to invite you at add your babies name below so we can all join in honouring our babies together. 🤍

With Mother’s Day approaching, the reminders can feel everywhere - in shops, on television, in emails and across social media.

For many in our community, this time can feel especially heavy. If that’s how you’re feeling, please remember to be gentle with yourself.

It’s okay to take a step back and protect your emotional space.

Some people find it helpful to:
🤍 Take a break from social media

🤍 Mute or unfollow accounts posting lots of Mother’s Day content

🤍 Unsubscribe from marketing emails for a little while

🤍 Spend some quiet time with people who understand

🤍 Do something gentle that helps you feel close to your angel 👼

There is no right or wrong way to navigate this time, and no expectation for how you should feel.

Take each moment as it comes, and please do whatever feels kindest for you 🤍

We would like to say a huge “Thank you” to Tom Drew and his wife Ceri for the wonderful donation that Tom raised last year running the Yorkshire marathon for Our Angels. Tom raised an incredible £1968!!! This is being split between our scanner fund and our ongoing costs that are spent on Memory boxes, counselling, support literature etc.
We are so hugely grateful for Toms amazing efforts and the incredible amount raised in their precious Maeves memory ❤️❤️

A 2024 parliamentary birth trauma inquiry recommended a Maternity Commissioner be appointed alongside a National Maternity Strategy to ensure mums and their babies were safe and looked after with professionalism and compassion.

This needs to be done and our voices need to be heard.
