For those of you who couldn’t attend the memorial service tonight we wanted to share the speech Emma gave. Today we wanted to send out our hugest thanks to 2 incredible people 🫶🫶

What Rich and Danielle Powell have achieved since their precious boy Squish Powell was born sleeping at 35 weeks on 4th February, is truly incredible. They started fundraising in his memory in April, and since then they have exceeded all expectations.
There are no words to truly express how amazing it is to see Danielle and Rich turn the unimaginable heartbreak of losing their beautiful boy, Squish, into something that will bring comfort to families walking the same path. 🤍🤍
Together they have raised an absolutely incredible amount of£11,000 including £8,300 for Our Angels!! 🤍🙏🙏
The first part of their fundraising was to provide the money for their project, “Snuggles with Squish” they bought 52 big cozy blankets for families using the Bluebell suite. These blankets will offer comfort to families during the most heartbreaking of times, whether they choose to wrap themselves and their precious baby in one, take it home as a keepsake, or use it in whatever way feels right for them. ❤️

We are also absolutely over the moon to announce that Danielle and Rich have donated £6,611 to our scanner appeal and this incredible amount has got us to our finish line!!! Emma had the pleasure of meeting up with them and Liv, our bereavement midwife, to accept their generous donation. (We will be putting a post up soon thanking everyone involved in the fundraising for our scanner )
Incredibly they still have funds left over for Our Angels and already have plans for the additional money and future fundraising going towards a new project to support families who need it most. 🫶🫶
From sharing Squish’s story and raising awareness, to Rich taking on the Leeds 10K, a friend running the Leeds Marathon and raising £700, a wonderful plant sale raising £1,000, the Squish & Sprinkles bake shed in Menston and the fantastic Squish’s Bingo Bonanza and raffle night raising over £3,000 — every single effort has helped make this possible.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, run, bought plants, attended events, bought raffle tickets, shared posts, or supported Danielle and Rich in any way. Every donation, every kind gesture and every bit of support has helped make a difference. None of this would have been possible without you.
Squish’s little life has already touched so many hearts, and his legacy will continue to bring love, comfort and support to families for years to come.
