A delightful visit to see backstage at Covent garden. We watched dancers rehearsing new ballets and singers practising act 2 of Peter Grimes( not allowed to take a picture of either) plus a visit to the workshop where they were making garlands and a horse for La fille mal gardee and a chance to compare the featherweight of a tutu with the bulky costume for Gloriana. After lunch in the 2018 foyer a group went to the Transport museum.

Then a delightful selection of delicacies for our afternoon tea.

William Morris's Strawberry Thief design was registered in 1883!

His most recognised design was inspired by the thrushes stealing strawberries in the garden of his Oxfordshire residence, Kelmscott Manor. It is still a bestselling design to this day🍓
