Over the next few months we want to shout out all the amazing people from Hanwell and where better to start than with Tyrese Bright.
At just 15 years old, Tyrese Bright has established himself as one of the UK’s most promising young musical theatre performers. A talented singer, dancer, and actor, Tyrese has built an impressive performance résumé through his dedication, versatility, and passion for the Arts
Tyrese's performing journey began unexpectedly at a local Hanwell Carnival talent show. Although the competition had officially finished, he was determined to perform, insisting on singing *7 Years* by Lukas Graham. That memorable moment sparked a passion for live performance that has continued to grow ever since.
Soon afterwards, Tyrese joined MV Academy of Performing Arts, where he has trained under the guidance of Principal Hannah McKenna-Vickerstaff. From his very first class, his enthusiasm and commitment were clear, and within a year he entered his first solo singing competition, achieving an impressive second-place finish. Since then, he has enjoyed continued success, winning numerous vocal solo and group song and dance titles while developing into a confident and accomplished young performer.
Determined to broaden his skills, Tyrese began competing in the demanding Song and Dance solo category, further developing his abilities as a true triple threat performer. His hard work and commitment culminated in one of his biggest achievements to date when he was crowned the **2025 Teen Grand Final Winner of West End Calling**. His powerful rendition of *I'm Here* from *The Colour Purple* earned widespread praise and showcased his exceptional vocal ability, stage presence, and emotional maturity. Following his victory, Tyrese was also featured on the **West End Calling: Volume One** EP, released in December 2025.
Alongside his competition success, Tyrese continues to gain valuable professional stage experience. He made his pantomime debut in the junior ensemble of **Aladdin** at the Beck Theatre, further strengthening his experience in live musical theatre performance.
In 2026, Tyrese proudly represented Team England the Dance World Cup with his solo Song & Dance musical theatre performance, *Privilege to P*e*. Competing against some of the world's most talented young performers, he achieved an outstanding **5th place in the world in his debut appearance on the international stage. He also represented MV Academy in the Junior Musical Theatre Song and Dance category, where the academy's energetic *Sister Act* medley earned another impressive 5th place world ranking for Team England
Despite his growing list of accolades, Tyrese remains dedicated to continually developing his craft. He is deeply grateful for the support, encouragement, and opportunities provided by Hannah McKenna-Vickerstaff and the team at MV Academy of Performing Arts, whose guidance has played a significant role in his development as a performer.
With an unwavering work ethic, infectious enthusiasm, and a genuine love for performing, Tyrese continues to pursue his ambition of one day performing professionally on London's West End. His achievements to date reflect not only his natural talent but also his determination to excel, making him a young performer with an exciting future ahead.
The year ahead will see Tyrese aiming to qualify to represent Team England at Global Dance Competition which will be held in Lisbon and possibly aim to qualify again for Team England at the Dance World Cup in Holland all this alongside studying for his GCSE's
