A CO-PRINCIPAL BASSOON opportunity has arisen at Farnborough Concert Orchestra (north Hampshire), following a long-time player's move out of the area. Our repertoire is wide-ranging, from classical, film and music from the shows, and we aspire to a high standard under our musical director, Tom Horn. We give four concerts a year across the Farnborough/Aldershot/Camberley area. In recent years we have performed the soundtrack live to three different 30-minute animated films which is challenging but fun and brings in a different audience.
Rehearsals Tuesday nights in term time in Farnborough (NB excellent parking at venue but not near railway station.)

We are down to our last few tickets for the 4pm live performance of the soundtrack to a big-screen showing of Wallace and Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death at Heath End School, Farnham (Saturday February 7;) there is better availability for the 2pm, but whatever your preferred time don't delay booking!

Each performance will include a few short "warm-up" pieces including a medley from the ever popular The Lion King.

We had a great technical rehearsal at last night for our live orchestral soundtrack performance of Wallace and Gromit, with the bonus of discovering there are additional screens around the hall. It will indeed be an immersive experience! And to add to the fun, we will have popcorn on sale at 50p.
Tickets still available for both showings on February 7, but we have to cap audience size at 200 each time, so don't delay booking!

Heath End School is a new venue for us, and so a few people coming on February 7 have asked about parking. You can access parks from two directions, shown on this google map: Hale Reeds, a direct turn off the A325, and from Bullers Road (name not shown on map but it is the cul de sac off Weybourne Lane.) Be aware there is no direct road that links these two cul de sacs through the school grounds.

Now we are into the New Year, tickets for Wallace and Gromit on February 7 are really flying! We can only accommodate 200 people - plus the orchestra of course - at each performance (2pm and 4pm), so to avoid disappointment please do not delay booking! Links on our pinned post.

FCO's fantastic music director Tom Horn and a number of our members were busy in 2025 developing a wonderful "playday" initiative, Hampshire Strings. Congratulations to all concerned as they approach their first birthday event at Medstead (near Alton) on January 18. Over 50 string players are expected but we gather more will be made very welcome; if you haven't played for a while, now is the time to dust off your instrument!

Wallace and Gromit as you've never seen them before. On February 7 FCO plays the soundtrack live to a screening of the multi award-winning A Matter of Loaf and Death. Audience limited to 200 at each of two showings, 2pm and 4 pm, so don't delay booking! A fun and unique afternoon out for all ages. Ample parking at the venue, Heath End School, Farnham.

Wallace and Gromit at the V&A... and in Farnham!
Aardman, the studio behind Wallace and Gromit and other iconic characters, celebrates its 50th anniversary year with an exhibition at the V&A from February 2026. You don't need to go to London to join in the fun....come along on February 7 to Heath End School, Farnham, where FCO is providing a live orchestral soundtrack to Wallace and Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death with film showings at 2pm and 4pm. Those who've been to our previous live soundtrack events will know its an experience not to be missed.

A wonderful concert last night, with a sizzling Rhapsody in Blue from stellar young pianist Firoze Madon, two sublime violin solos from our leader Vanessa Russell, and the orchestra in top form.
We were delighted to see a huge audience at St Andrews's Garrison Church; now we aim to attract the same numbers to another "new" venue for us, Heath End School in north Farnham, who have kindly supplied their cinematic facilities for our next live soundtrack event: Wallace and Gromit, A Matter of Loaf and Death on February 7. Tickets on sale now, two showings at 2pm and 4pm.
