We are currently looking for people interested in attending some FREE training as a Volunteer Walk Leader run by Active Calderdale.

Once trained as a Volunteer Walk Leader, we would love for you to lead in encouraging and supporting gentle walks in connection with our Family Hubs at Jubilee and Little Stars.

It's Drowning Prevention Week!

Here at 50 Things To Do, we love a water feature - in fact it's #41 of our screen free fun activities.

Walking near, or even in, water gives children a new experience which will stimulate brain growth, foster learning and promote overall well-being.

BUT even shallow water can be dangerous and young children must be supervised by an adult at all times when in or near water.

Encourage families to explore the 'Ways to Try' menu under each activity on the app with guidance to get the most out of play time together and useful localised links.

The Great British Summer Savings scheme is running from 25 June to 1 September 2026, helping families feel a bit less squeezed this summer ☀️

The new scheme includes reduced VAT on days out, including tickets at attractions like soft play, adventure centres and theme parks, children's tickets for theatres and cinemas, and children's meals in restaurants. Children aged 5 to 15 in England will also be able to travel free on local bus services throughout August.
