Is there a journey you struggle to make? Somewhere you would go more often if getting there were easier? Or do local transport options generally work well for you?

Haddenham Parish Council and Cambridgeshire ACRE want to hear from local residents about their real experiences of getting around.
We’re particularly interested in journeys around Haddenham and to neighbouring villages and towns, but the survey also gives you an opportunity to tell us about difficulties travelling to hospital appointments.

Whether you drive, use public or community transport, rely on lifts, walk or use a mixture of options, your experience matters.

🏆 We’ve achieved GOLD! 🏆

We’re delighted to announce that Haddenham Parish Council has been awarded the NALC Local Council Award Scheme Gold Award – the highest level of accreditation available.

But this isn’t just a certificate…

The Gold Award recognises high standards of governance, community leadership and council development, looking at how the Council operates, plans, manages its resources, engages with residents and continually works to improve.

And it’s a pretty special achievement…

⭐ With around 10,000 parish and town councils across England, Haddenham Parish Council is currently one of only 53 councils nationally to hold the Gold Award.

A huge thank you to our councillors, staff, volunteers, community groups and residents who all contribute to making Haddenham & Aldreth the community it is.

Gold achieved. Now we keep improving. 💛

Youth Club Cancellation

Unfortunately, tonight’s Youth Club session at the Arkenstall Centre has been cancelled due to staff availability.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.

🚶‍♀️ Discover Haddenham’s history on foot! 🗺️

We’re pleased to let residents know that a new Haddenham History Walks map board has now been installed on the Green.

The board features the self-guided history walks around Haddenham and Aldreth, created by the Haddenham Local History Group, giving residents and visitors the opportunity to explore the village and discover more about its fascinating history. 📜🏡

There are now nine walks to explore, covering different parts of the village and its history. The walks are also available in paper format from Haddenham Library, Haddenham Arts Centre and Spar so you can pick them up and follow the routes at your own pace.

A huge thank you to Jez Reeve from the Haddenham Local History Group for all her hard work in putting this wonderful series of walks together and getting them into publication. Andrea Chambers and Jez designed the board and also brought together a fantastic team over the weekend to install the new board on the Green.

🌳 Have your say on improvements to Hop Row Play Area! 🛝

Haddenham Parish Council is looking at opportunities to improve Hop Row Play Area and make it more inclusive and accessible for children and young people of different ages and abilities.

A recent independent play area audit has highlighted areas where improvements could be made. We are now seeking residents’ views to help inform our proposals and support an application for funding.

We would particularly like to hear your views on:
🔹 Equipment that is accessible to children with different physical abilities
🔹 Improved access for wheelchair users and those with mobility difficulties
🔹 Improved access to the play area itself
🔹 Sensory play opportunities, such as interactive or tactile play panels, for children who may find some traditional play equipment more difficult to access
🔹 Creating a more inclusive space where children with different abilities can play together
