๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšฒ Active Travel Survey โ€“ Results are in!

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the recent Active Travel Survey. An amazing 407 responses were received โ€“ the county's highest response rate for any Active Travel survey to date! ๐Ÿ™Œ

The results show strong support for making it easier and safer to walk, wheel and cycle, both for local journeys and for longer trips.

Some of the key findings include:

๐Ÿ”น 82% of Haddenham and Aldreth respondents would like to walk, wheel or cycle more often.
๐Ÿ”น 84% of all respondents would like to make longer journeys by walking, wheeling or cycling more often.
๐Ÿ”น 66% said they would probably or definitely consider switching from a car or other motorised vehicle to active travel for longer journeys if suitable measures were introduced.
๐Ÿ”น 48% would like to regularly cycle to both Ely and the Cambridge to St Ives corridor.

The findings are now helping to shape potential next steps, including exploring a Quiet Lane connection towards Ely and the feasibility of a route from Aldreth towards the Cambridge to St Ives corridor.

These are early-stage proposals, but the survey provides valuable evidence of the demand for better active travel connections.

Thank you again to everyone who shared their views โ€“ your responses will help inform future work on active travel across our communities.

๐Ÿš— National Community Speedwatch Day โ€“ Haddenham Takes Part! ๐Ÿš—

On Wednesday 15th July, Haddenham Community Speedwatch volunteers proudly joined groups across the country for National Community Speedwatch Day of Action.

Our dedicated volunteers carried out two Speedwatch sessions in the village, helping to raise awareness of speeding and encourage safer driving through our community.

Across Cambridgeshire, more than 340 volunteers took part in 113 Speedwatch sessions, demonstrating the incredible commitment of local people working together to improve road safety.

We're always looking for new volunteers to join our friendly team. You don't need any previous experienceโ€”just a few hours to spare each month and a desire to help make Haddenham's roads safer for everyone.

If you'd like to find out more or get involved, email [email protected] or scan the QR code below to learn more about Community Speedwatch.

Together, we can make a real difference. ๐Ÿšฆ๐Ÿ’›

Aldreth Defibrillator Update โค๏ธ

Haddenham Parish Council has now taken on responsibility for the Aldreth defibrillator, helping to ensure this important lifesaving equipment remains available for the community when it is needed.

We would also like to remind residents of the other defibrillator locations available in the area. Knowing where your nearest defibrillator is located can make a vital difference in an emergency.

The locations of registered defibrillators can be found through The Circuit, the national defibrillator network: https://www.defibfinder.uk/

Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the nearest defibrillator to your home, workplace, or regular walking routes.
