The sound of the term is 's'.
The children have enjoyed exploring the objects that begin with 's'. We choose a sound to focus on for the entire term because repetition really helps our children to learn.
Sound bombardment is a fun, low-pressured way to expose children to a specific target sound. It helps to increase their awareness of the sound and how it is produced. The children also use their fabulous listening and turn taking skills.

This week we continued our winter themed topic by learning the signs for clothes you wear in the winter. The children also expanded their vocabulary, by learning about 'in' and 'out' and putting the clothes in and out of the washing machine

Turn taking is such an important skill to learn, it also helps children develop their social and language skills, and shared attention. Every session we include a turn taking activity. This week the children enjoyed taking it in turns to roll a ball to each which is also a great way to work on those gross motor skills.

It was so lovely to welcome all of our wonderful families back after half term.
It was spooky week this week!
The children enjoyed exploring the 'room on the broom' sensory box and learning some new signs. We also worked on object permanence by hiding creepy spiders under witch hats.

The topic for this term has been farm animals.
One fun activity the children have been enjoying is finding different farm animals under buckets and scarves. This activity helps promote object permanence (the understanding that an object/person is still there even when you can't see them) as well as learning new words (animal names and animal sounds), along with learning the makaton sign.

We hope everyone has a wonderful half term!
