I’m feeling a little emotional looking back at our Pokémon Day party 🥹

Thank you so much to everyone who came and shared the evening with us. I know walking into a new club can feel like a bit of a risk, so it means a lot that families trust us with their time and choose to share their hobbies with us.

Thanks to the amazing team at Grim Dice, every child received a pack of Prismatic Evolutions. For some of our young Trainers, it was their first time ever opening one! ✨

Because of the generosity of our local community, we were also able to give out binders, deck boxes, cards and accessories.

We played, traded, learnt how to play and helped complete some master sets using donated bulk cards. We also set up some new crafts, which I completely forgot to photograph because I was having too much fun!

There were some lovely trades too. We received a very cool Deoxys, while our Mewtwo EX went to a new home with a massive Mewtwo fan. Our Zeraora V also found a lovely new home in exchange for an awesome Pyroar for our deck building.

We’re so lucky to have parents who want to share their own games and interests with us too. I had a brilliant time being introduced to Thunder Road: Vendetta, and I’ll absolutely be looking for a copy! 🎲

All these donations make a huge difference. They mean that when I fundraise and sell bits of my own collection, I can concentrate more of that money on food, activities and keeping the club free for every child.

I’m incredibly grateful to our volunteers, Ed and Zander, and to everyone who has donated cards, accessories, equipment or their time. We couldn’t do this without you 💛

One of our Trainers called it “the best day ever”, and I think I have to agree.

To think this all started with us raising money for our school breakfast club. I’m so proud of what Future Trainers Club has become and of the kind community growing around it.

☀️ Future Trainers Club Update ☀️

Due to the high temperatures forecast for Tuesday 23rd June, we’ve made the decision to cancel tomorrow evening’s Future Trainers Club session.

The safety and wellbeing of our trainers, families, volunteers and staff always comes first, and we don’t feel it’s sensible to ask everyone to travel and spend time indoors during the hottest parts of the day.

Please take care, stay hydrated, keep cool, and look after yourselves and your families.

We’ll be back as normal on Tuesday 14th July and look forward to seeing everyone then.

In the meantime, if you’re looking for some gaming, trading or social play, our friends at Grim Dice Tabletop Gaming are hosting their free Learn to Play session on Sunday 28th June. It’s a great opportunity to learn new games, play some casual matches, meet other players and do a bit of trading.

Thank you for your understanding, and we’ll see you all soon! 💙
