Not Home Alone

Not Home Alone Dedicated volunteers helping make a difference to Senior Citizens living alone without local family💖 Charity no : 1168683 That was where it usually ended.

Not Home Alone was started in November 2014, we as no doubt many other read the stories in the press about loneliness and senior citizens and each year we used to say wouldn't it be nice if there was a way we could invite someone into our family and enjoy Christmas with us. Christmas 2014 after a lot of hard work and the most unbelievable support from the local community we managed to fundraise an

d cover the cost to pick up, entertain and cook for our guests, who otherwise would have been Home Alone. The amazing support for our shoe box campaign enabled us to give gifts to all our guest AND deliver gifts to another 441 senior citizens in Louth, Scunthorpe, Brigg, Grimsby and Cleethorpes as well as drop some to the hospital. We started as a small group of people my mum Wendy Nielsen, my brother Guy Bryant, my husband John Stobart and myself, I'm Nina Stobart. In August 2016, Not Home Alone became a registered charity and started on its next exciting chapter. We are completely humbled by the support that we have received and it is an honour to make a difference to people's live, making friendships and memories.

Wow! It's hard to believe that this is our 11th Easter. Our volunteers are now busy planning for our wonderful Easter lunch, when we will look forward to welcoming around 90 guests who, at another family orientated bank holiday weekend, would otherwise be home alone. If you would like to support us by donating to our Easter Egg appeal or know a business that may like to support us, we would love to hear from you, or you can donate directly here https://www.justgiving.com/nothomealone If you add a message to your donation, it will be given to our guest with your Easter Egg! A suggested donation is £5.

As a very small, self-funded local charity run completely by volunteers, we rely heavily on community support, for us to continue to tackle isolation and loneliness in our community. 🐰 🐥
