Our colleague Jennifer attended the Centre4 Youth Building opening on Saturday and had the opportunity to see the fantastic new building firsthand.

A special thank you to apprentice Youth Worker Summer, who gave Jennifer a tour and shared more about the exciting opportunities the new space will provide for young people in the community.

It’s wonderful to see such an inspiring and welcoming environment being created for local young people.

People across Grimsby are being invited to become Decision Makers and help decide which community ideas receive support through the first testing phase of Grimsby’s future Growing Together Fund.

Through the Give it a Go fund, people that live or work in Grimsby can apply for grants of up to £10,000 to test, start or spark something new in the town.

Ideas are welcome across a wide range of themes, including community activity, arts and culture, education, environment, health, employment, housing and more.

But this is not just about funding.

Local people are also being invited to become Decision Makers, helping to review shortlisted ideas and recommend which projects receive support.

No previous experience is needed. The aim is to bring together a real cross-section of Grimsby, with different ages, backgrounds, experiences and parts of town represented.

You can apply to become a Decision Maker and help decide which local ideas are backed, or apply for funding if you have an idea that could make a difference in the town via the dedicated website. Applications for both routes are open until Friday 5 June 2026.

Give it a Go is the start of a shared learning phase. It will help test how community decision-making can work fairly and transparently, while backing practical local action now.

The Growing Together Fund is being developed from the work that has taken place through Grimsby Together, with local people helping to shape priorities for the town’s future.

At its heart is a simple idea:

Back people to shape the future of their hometown.
