Beginners Improv (18+) on Wed 26th August, starts at 6.30pm at the Blackgull on Grimsby Docks.

Ever wondered how comedians create sketch comedy? Intrigued about what makes a good scene? Just want to be silly and have fun? Then Beginners Improv is for you!

Over a two hour training session with experienced improviser Rob Carr, you'll learn the secrets behind improvisation taught in the famous schools of Chicago, New York and Los Angeles and seen on screen in just about every sketch show, sitcom and comedy movie made today! Want to make some comedy reels? There's nothing quicker for generating ideas and drafts than improv!

Come learn tools, guidelines and structures that will help you create your very own improvised sketches!

But the best part? You'll make a bunch of new people who all share the same goal - to have fun and make each other laugh.

Starting on Friday 28th August we're launching the new 'Sailor Sessions' Open Mic Night, hosted by Brad and Emily.

Musicians and Poets welcome to come and take the stage... Covers are welcome, originals encouraged!

No booking needed, just turn up and give it a go, 6:30pm - 8:30pm

We're changing the format of our Breakfast Club from this week.

Starting this week, rather than a buffet style breakfast on a Friday morning, you will be able to order a full English breakfast or Breakfast Roll from the menu and have it served hot and freshly cooked direct to your table.

The menu is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays so you won't need to wait until Friday any more!

We will also be adding new options in the coming weeks for those that prefer something different for breakfast including traditionally Smoked Haddock and Salmon dishes from our neighbours at the Alfred Enderby Smokehouse.

This week on the Blackgull Lunchtime Specials Board is our 'Alfred Enderby's world famous Smoked Salmon or Smoked Haddock Fishcake in a sourdough roll, with fries and mushy peas... Come and try the amazing flavour of fish smoked in the Enderby's traditional smokehouse!

Our Kitchen is open from 8.30am until 2pm for Hot and Cold food and snacks from our Daily Menu with the Coffee Shop open until 3pm for Seven Districts Barista Coffee, Hot and Cold drinks.

The Blackgull Breakfast club is on today at 10am until 12pm. Come down to the Blackgull Café on Grimsby Docks and try our breakfast buffet!

Bacon, Sausage, Egg, Hash Brown, Black Pudding, Beans and Tomatoes and a Bread Roll - £7.50. With a Cup of Tea or Instant Coffee - £8.50 or with a Seven Districts Barista Coffee prepared fresh for £9.50.

Great value, great quality freshly prepared Breakfast Buffet...

We are also open for takeaway breakfast rolls and hot drinks if you don't have time to eat in. Our daytime eat-in menu is also available until the kitchen closes at 2pm.
