A period of very hot weather is expected over the coming days. Older adults are particularly vulnerable to heat-related illness, so it’s important to take extra care.
✅ Stay indoors during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm)
✅ Keep curtains and blinds closed on sunny windows
✅ Drink plenty of water regularly, even if you don’t feel thirsty
✅ Wear light, loose-fitting clothing
✅ Use a fan if available and keep rooms well ventilated
✅ Avoid strenuous activity and direct sun exposure
✅ Check on friends, neighbours, and family members who may need support
⚠️ Seek medical help if you experience dizziness, confusion, severe headache, shortness of breath, or signs of heat exhaustion.
