A lovely service for our Patron St. John the Baptist this morning as we begin celebrations for Greatham Feast weekend. Well done to all the children 👏👏🙌🎉 ✝️

We are so proud of our children, who led our church service beautifully today to celebrate the birthday of St John the Baptist, Our Patron Saint. Thank you to all who joined us in church and supported the children.
We wish all our families a lovely weekend of celebrations! 🎉

💒 WEDDING MEMORIES WANTED! 💒

Were you, your parents, grandparents, or other family members married at St John the Baptist Church, Greatham?

As part of our Heritage Day celebrations this September, we are creating a special exhibition celebrating the many weddings that have taken place at St John the Baptist Church through the years.

We would love to hear your stories and see your photographs. If you have any wedding photographs, wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, order of service booklets, invitations, or other wedding memorabilia that you would be willing to loan for the exhibition, we would be delighted to include them.

Come and Visit the Exhibition

📅 Saturday 12th September – 10:00am to 3:00pm
📅 Sunday 13th September – 12:00pm to 3:00pm
📅 Friday 18th September – 10:00am to 3:00pm

Take a trip down memory lane and enjoy a wonderful display of wedding photographs, dresses, stories and memorabilia spanning many decades.

☕ Tea and wedding cake will be served
🎟️ Entry is free

Share Your Memories

Please send copies of your photographs, along with:

• Names of the bride and groom
• Date of the wedding
• Any memories of the wedding day and reception

to Gwenda Cullen via Messenger.

Alternatively, items can be brought to church after the 9:30am Sunday service.

We understand that your original photographs and keepsakes are precious. If you prefer, we can arrange to collect items, take copies of photographs, and safely return all originals.

Help us celebrate the rich wedding heritage of St John the Baptist Church, Greatham, and preserve these precious memories for future generations.

What is the annual meeting?
It’s a catch up of how the last year has gone, to share what went well, how we could improve, to say thank you for all the hard work and to celebrate the way God has been at work in our community as we look to the future.
