Cracking Good Food

Cracking Good Food We are a social enterprise working to alleviate food and kitchen kit poverty across Greater Manchester. Everyone deserves good food! πŸ«›πŸ’πŸŒ

Established in 2010, we are a social enterpise working across Greater Manchester (and sometimes beyond!) to alleviate hunger, increase food security and foster a love of cooking from scratch in a diverse range of communities. Sustainability and inclusivity are at the heart of all of our work, which includes:

- Regular cookery school across a huge range of cuisines classes in Didsbury
- Foraging expeditions in Manchester, Macclesfield and Hebden Bridge
- Team Building activities
- Catering service
- Community cookery workshops and events
- Holiday Food & Activity Fund (HAF) food and activity provision
- Community food and cooking support projects
- Basic Food Hygiene Level 2 training days

As a social enterprise, the fees for our paid-for activities help to support our community support work. We work collaberatively with a huge range of community partners such as Housing Associations, charities, leisure providers, Local Authorities, food clubs, pantry schemes, church groups and homeless prevention hostels to deliver our work. We are also active members of Good Food Greater Manchester and the Greater Manchester Food Security Action Network to help strategise and campaign for a fairer food system for all.

Cracking Good Food 🀝 Warburtons

What happens when two amazing food entities come together? AMAZING THINGS!

After a whole day of strategizing, Warburtons People Leadership Team spent an evening with us!

They donned their aprons, learnt creative chopping techniques, and cooked up and ate together after a hard day's work!

What can be better than that?

We'll tell you.... their support enables our work in engaging marginalised and underserved communities in learning to cook🧑

For those wanting to unite and treat their team whilst feeding and supporting deprived communities please contact [email protected] for more information on how you can get involved πŸ’šπŸ‘¨β€πŸ³πŸ₯³

The Mott MacDonald Social team got social with Cracking Good Food

With a team spread across the UK - from Edinburgh to Bristol and Brighton - they all gathered together in Manchester last month for an afternoon of teambuilding.

Their day kicked off with an AI workshop exploring emerging technologies and how they help teams to work smarter and create greater impact.

They then joined us at 422 Stockport Rd to volunteer and cook up a storm whilst learning about our work to combat food poverty across Manchester.

Always great to engage teams with our mission and increase awareness about issues of food waste and food poverty as well as educate on healthy eating!

Bring your team together differently. Connect and unite them through food πŸ«πŸ“

Last week we hosted a one-off cooking session focused on sparking conversations around food and sustainability at Ingredion Incorporated as part of their week

The group got hands-on making quesadillas, using the process as a way to explore topics like reducing waste, making thoughtful ingredient choices, and how everyday cooking habits can have a wider impact.

It opened up some great discussions while bringing people together around simple, accessible food 🌱
