Mid Essex Radio Car Club (M.E.R.C.C.) Radio Controlled Car Racing Club The club races during the Spring, Summer and Autumn at its permanent 'off-road' track at Great Braxted (near Witham).

Mid Essex Radio Car Club (established in 1984 as Springfield Buggy Club and then as Springfield Radio Controlled Car Club) has, since its early, days enjoyed a reputation for its friendliness and emphasis on 'fun'. Major competition meetings are also held here. A warm welcome is extended to everyone and members are always pleased to help and advise newcomers. The Classes raced are all scales of El

ectric and 'Nitro' off-road Buggies, Trucks, and Truggies up to 1/8th scale. The off-road track at Great Braxted has proved to be ideal for these classes. All drivers, beginners to experts are most welcome. The Club has its own fully computerised automatic lap counting system, which is used at all meetings and has earned respect nationwide for the high standard of organisation at race meetings. In recent years the Club has hosted Buggy & Truck National competitions.
