And Friday we are back at the New Green Thurston.

Spaces are available across all 4 session times with the last session of the week at Thurston being our reduced capacity group.

This week we have our Dinosaur Slide Castle making a roaaarsome appearance.

As we head into the Bank Holiday and half-term school holiday, we want parents to be aware of the potential risks associated with slush ice drinks containing glycerol. While these drinks may seem harmless and side effects are generally mild, they can, especially when consumed in large quantities over a short time, pose serious health risks to young children.

Slush ice drinks or ‘slushies’ can contain the ingredient glycerol (E 422) as a substitute for sugar, this additive is used at a level required to create the ‘slush’ effect.

Children aged under seven should not consume these drinks, because they may cause side-effects, particularly when consumed in high levels, including:

▪️ headaches and sickness
▪️ hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar)
▪️ shock
▪️ loss of consciousness

Children aged under 10 should only have one 350ml slush ice drink with glycerol a day. That’s about the same size as a can of fizzy drink, or a standard coffee.

❗ Parents and guardians should check with the seller on whether the drink contains glycerol - don’t buy if in doubt.

This advice also applies to ready-to-drink slush ice drinks with glycerol in pouches and home kits containing glycerol in the slush concentrates. The presence of glycerol should be reflected on the label or contact the manufacturer for further information.

If a child becomes unwell with headaches, nausea or vomiting soon after consuming slush ice drinks, you should immediately give them drinks or food containing sugar and call 111 for medical advice. If a child becomes drowsy or confused, you should call 999 for urgent medical attention.

Bury Soft Play and Soft Play City UK are back at the Great Blakenham Village Hall and Recreational Ground on Wednesday this week with some Stay and Play fun.

This week the NEW Paw Patrol Slide will be in action along with the Toddlers Pirates Paradise Inflatable Play Park.

Loads of soft play and DIDI cars will be there for your little ones enjoyment as well as the super popular Unicorn Car Coaster.

Spaces are limited.

If you have an actively mobile baby, toddler or pre-school aged child, then this session is a great way to spend a morning.

Siblings under one go free (no ticket required) and hot drinks + squash is freely available.

The session runs monthly (check the booking site for all the dates up to July) and is on from 09.30 - 11.00
