Beacon’s First Summer ☀️
With summer coming to an end and our young people heading back to school, we’re reflecting on six weeks filled with countless memories, new experiences and plenty of fun.
These six weeks included a three day residential and five different activities, from creative sessions and laser tag to an aqua park, beach trips and a trampoline park. Our young people had the opportunity to try new things, challenge themselves and enjoy time together beyond their usual weekly sessions.
The activities gave young people something to look forward to, time with friends and opportunities to experience things many had never done before. Across the summer, we saw young people become more confident, more independent and increasingly willing to get involved and step outside their comfort zones.
Feedback from our young people and their parents showed an overwhelmingly positive experience:
💬 “I will remember the residential because I overcame fears.”
💬 “He said he didn’t want it to finish! I noticed how much more independence he’s shown compared to previous trips.”
Beacon Invicta’s summer programme was made possible with the support of our funders and local supporters, who helped us provide young people with opportunities to try new things, build confidence, spend time with friends and make brilliant memories.
