From Grief to Gold: Richard Whitehead MBE Joins Our Remembrance Tree Charity Ball

The National Grief Advice Service is honoured to welcome Richard Whitehead MBE as a guest speaker at our Remembrance Tree Charity Ball, taking place on Friday 16th October 2026 at Arena UK, Grantham.

Richard is known around the world for extraordinary determination, resilience and sporting achievement. A double Paralympic gold medallist, multiple World Champion, world-record-breaking marathon runner and inspirational speaker, his story is one of overcoming barriers and showing what can be possible when we refuse to allow circumstances to define us.

But behind the medals, records and celebrations is also a deeply personal story of friendship, loss and grief.
