Rotary Global Swimarathon

Rotary Global Swimarathon Together we can help End Polio Now, and now have a Guinness World Record! District 1070 RIBI, UK. Most importantly they raised over $100,000 for End Polio Now.

Rotary Global Swimarathon

The Rotary Global Swimarathon is organised and co-ordinated by the Rotary Club of Grantham No 354. On 25th February 2012, over 4500 swimmers in over 23 countries and more than 100 Rotary, Rotaract, Interact and sporting clubs swam in the exact same hour 12pm-1pm breaking the Guinness World Record for the most simultaneous swimmers completing 100 metres in human history.

Following on from this remarkable global achievement, the event will return bigger and better than ever on Rotary Day Saturday 23rd February 2013 , with the target of over 50,000 swimmers in more than 1000 clubs raising over $1million. The main purpose is to raise funds to help Rotary International eradicate Polio, which still exists in 3 countries in the world. All we are asking, is for every Rotary Club around the world to organise a Swimarathon in their local town for one hour and get as many people to swim and raise sponsorship. Not only will it help the fight against Polio, it will raise awareness of Rotary in your local Community, it will encourage everyone to keep fit and enjoy their swimming and also we may set a new World Record for the most people swimming at anyone time. Join in the Fun. Let's eradicate Polio together. Best Wishes to you all. Roger Graves (Chairman of Rotary Global Swimarathon)
