Evelyn's Butterfly Effect

Evelyn's Butterfly Effect Our beautiful daughter Evelyn lost her battle with mental illness on 15th April 2022, aged 15 years. Evelyn was the kindest soul you could ever meet.

Encouraging random acts of kindness, social connection, and positive change around mental health 🦋

In memory of Evelyn, may the ripples of her kindness forever grow wider 💜 She was always thinking about others, and doing random acts of kindness to bring a smile to other people. Even in her darkest times, she went out of her way to help others with empathy and kindness. We've set up Evelyn's Butte

rfly Effect in her memory, to leave a legacy of spreading kindness. We'd love everyone to do a random act of kindness in Evelyn's name. By sharing stories and pictures of these, we will be able to see the ripple effect of kindness - Evelyn's butterfly effect in action.

We had a lovely time on our wellbeing walk this morning 🦋 Good company and conversations, and a great day to clear the cobwebs a bit and get some headspace 🌞

Some kindness has been sprinkled along the way too… we hope they bring a smile to those who find them 🦋

Time is flying… and there’s now just one week left to experience the Garden of Hope at Burghley House before it moves on to Natural World Centre at Whisby Nature Park . 🦋

With the weather looking brighter this week, why not take some time to visit this powerful and peaceful installation?

Featuring 98 beautifully decorated butterflies, each one represents a life lost to su***de in Lincolnshire in 2024. Each butterfly has been lovingly created by members of our community, sharing messages, colours and designs filled with hope.

Take a moment to pause and reflect.
A place for conversation, kindness and connection.

🌟 National Volunteers’ Week 🌟

This week, we want to shine a light on the incredible people who make everything we do possible — our amazing volunteers.

To our dedicated management committee, who bring such a valuable mix of ideas, experience and passion, to every individual who gives their time and energy… we are so grateful 💜

Our well-being walks continue to grow, and with that growth comes the need for support. Thanks to our wonderful volunteers, these walks remain safe, welcoming and accessible for everyone who joins us.

We’ve also been getting out into the community and attending events to raise awareness — most recently at Grantham College, supported by one of our brilliant volunteers.

And then there’s the Garden of Hope 🌿
So many people have contributed their time, effort and care to this project. Just this weekend, volunteers spent the entire day helping to move an installation — no easy task in the heat, with dry and stubborn ground. Giving up their weekends to support something special means the world to us.

We truly couldn’t do what we do without each and every one of you. Thank you for everything you do 🦋

👉 We are currently looking for a few more volunteers for our wellbeing walks. If you would like to become a volunteer and make a difference, please do reach out to us — we’d love to hear from you.

We love that Natural World Centre at Whisby Nature Park are excited for our Garden of Hope to be visiting later this month 💜

In anticipation, they’ve created a stunning butterfly trail around Thorpe Lake as part of the NK Walking Festival, brought to life with the help of the incredibly talented art and design students from Hill Holt Wood 🦋

Perfect for families to do together, and who knows, there might be a little treat at the end... 🦋

Take a moment to pause, reflect, and feel inspired on our Garden of Hope Trail.
A gentle walk filled with a hidden message, designed to uplift and encourage wellbeing in a beautiful natural setting.

Last few days to see the Garden of Hope at Ayscoughfee Hall Museum & Gardens before the butterflies take flight and settle at Burghley House from Monday 1st June 🦋

Huge thanks to everyone at Ayscoughfee Hall and South Holland District Council for being so supportive 💜

A kaleidoscope of butterflies will settle for 20 days in the grounds of a stately home.
