Are you a morning Lark or a night Owl? That was the theme for our Writing for Wellbeing Circle last night. Jennifer guided us through thought provoking activities, touching on journaling, poetry and creative writing ☺💭

In our book group this month, we’re reading The Summer Book by Tove Jansson:

The Summer Book (Sommarboken) is a 1972 novel by Tove Jansson, widely considered her finest work for adults. The story follows Sophia, a six-year-old girl, and her grandmother as they spend a summer on a tiny, remote island in the Gulf of Finland, navigating their relationship while silently mourning the death of Sophia’s mother

A huge thanks to everyone who joined our Conversation Cafe this Wednesday. We started with a quick quiz to get us thinking about ‘Age Without Limits’, which sparked some great chat and insight - taking us in many (and some surprising!) directions.

Brilliant to see some new faces joining our community too 😊.

Looking forward to our next cafe event already ☕️.

In our online book group, we've been reading Hagstone by Sinéad Gleeson.

Set on a remote Irish island, the main character, Nell, an artist, is commissioned to create a piece for the Inions - a secretive, off-grid commune of women. The islanders are plagued by a mysterious, low-frequency supernatural hum known as 'the sound'.

We had mixed views on it - we appreciated the atmospheric writing and touches of folklore, but thought the plot depth and characters were left lacking.
