I know you're all still on your summer holidays but it's time to start thinking about Christmas!

Last year we stored and sorted the toys for the Christmas toy appeal above Goole College - the current site of the leisure centre/gym. Unfortunately that space is not available this year.

Can you help us with a storage space for the toy appeal this Christmas?

It needs to be in Goole, secure, and available from the end of October - mid December. If it was accessible evenings and weekends this would be brilliant as our volunteers all have day jobs. We have insurance. Free would be amazing as we are a charity and entirely volunteer run. Get involved and you would be helping lots of families in your local community have a happy Christmas. We helped 120+ children last year, this year we want to help even more!

Please message or comment if you can help.

Please share this far and wide, thank you!

The last bow has been tied and the last gift given and we've come to the end of our “Give A Gift” Christmas toy appeal for 2025. We have been absolutely blown away by the generosity of the people of Goole. Both in terms of how many toys we received and in the time people are willing to volunteer to help our cause.

So thank you!

Thank you to Goole Lions whose support and advice has been perhaps even more valuable than the money they donated to the cause.

Thank you also to the Goole Times for supporting and promoting “Give A Gift”. I don't imagine this would have been as successful without your promotion and support.

Thank you to everyone who works at the businesses that acted as our collection points: Tesco, TSB, Halifax, Goole Times, Junction, Moorlands and Windsor Court. Without you there would have been no toys collected. You are amazing and we appreciate the extra work this will have meant to the staff who work there.

Thank you to everyone who referred a family for help. We had referrals from various local organisations, schools and local people and we appreciate the extra work this put on your plates at an already busy time of the year. Without you we would have had no children to receive the toys so thank you.

Thank you very much also to the staff who work at the leisure centre (currently located at Goole College). Without this central location to act as our storage and sorting room I'm not sure what we would have done.

But mainly thank you to every last person who donated a toy, we received over 850 toys which was beyond our wildest expectations! We kept picking up trolley after trolley full of toys which I think shows just what a strong and generous community we have here in Goole.

I'll leave you with some facts and figures.

850+ toys donated
24+ volunteer hours to allocate and organise the donations
127 children gifted

We will still be working hard behind the scenes organising and sorting. We will be in touch shortly to organise collection or delivery. 🎄🎁🎅
