Hi All

I just wanted to start by thanking the volunteers who collected quilts for binding last week - you are amazing! Those of you who offered to help, but they had already been taken - we do have another ten which are currently out being quilted, so we will get in touch when they come back..

We've now hit a bump in another part of the process. After a very busy making day this past Sunday, we now have TWENTY-THREE tops which need to be quilted. This is a part of the process we do struggle with, as not everyone is keen on quilting something single bed sized.

So, just to stress - they don't need anything fancy. The ones I quilt are done on a standard domestic sewing machine, and all I do is straight lines 1/4" out from seams, and then a bit of messing around on the panel.

You don't even need to be able to do the whole of this step to help - if you don't have the space to layer up a quilt of this size, we can do that for you. If you're happy doing the straight line quilting, but don't know where to start with the free motion on the panel, that's still a huge help - someone else can do that bit.
