Hey! Hikers! the next Godshill walk is Friday 21st August 11am, meeting at Godshill car park. This one is called the Stenbury Surprise! Be amoung the first to traipse the brand new GL54a footpath, take a jump in a muddy puddle, navigate a ford that still carries water, enjoy views right across to Tennyson Down, walk shady riverside paths, cross bridges, duckboards and some very interesting stiles! At just over five and a half miles this one is for adventurous walkers and is prob not suitable for our canine companions (due to some very narrow paths and many sheep in fields). It's a fabulous route, we just LOVE it!

Walk group URGENT UPDATE! Tomorrow's walk from Newchurch will start at a later time: 1.30pm. This is due to it being Newchurch School sports day (a.m) and the car parking will be seriously restricted!! Those sharing rides from Godshill meet 1pm at our village car park. This is an easy, shady route, but make sure you bring a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water. We will take optional refreshments at the Pointers afterwards, as planned. See you there!

Godshill Walking Group: Friday 17th July at 1.30pm

We will be having an ‘away day’ for the next friendly walk.
The walk will start from the School Lane Car Park in Newchurch at 1.30pm
The delightful figure of eight route will take us through Martins Wood passing the Mill at Alverson then doubling back stopping at the Squirrel Hide before walking back to Newchurch along the Yar Valley Trail.
After the walk some of us will pause at the Pointer Inn for some much-needed refreshment.
As this is an ‘away day’ walk, if anyone would like - or can offer - a lift from Godshill car park at 1pmm, please let Alison know so shared lifts can be organised:– [email protected]
