Godshill Walking Group
Today, Friday 12th June, saw the Godshill Walking Group striding out again. We enjoyed another scenic walk, “Rookley Green and Back to Godshill.”
The walk began with a short bus ride from Godshill to the start point at Rookley Green. From there, we followed a 5 mile zig zag trail along mainly flat, wide paths and field edges, perfect for relaxed walking and chatting.
As usual, some of the walkers rounded things off with welcome refreshments in The Griffin.
Our next walk is on Friday 17th July — details to follow.

Godshill Walking Group
Our next walk is tomorrow Friday 12th June.

Meet at Godshill car park, opposite The Griffin PH at 10.50am.
We will be catching the 11.02 bus to Rookley Green, so remember your bus pass or cash. Or meet us at Rookley Green at the start of the walk at 11.10am.

The walk follows a zig-zag trail of 4.5 miles, going back to Godshill. Its mainly flat and wide paths and field edges. There is one short boggy section and three stiles towards the end.
As always, everyone is very welcome to join us afterwards for well- deserved refreshments in The Griffin.

We need more volunteers to take part. The first training session is this Sunday.

The "Adaptation Resource" is a pioneering community initiative led by the Greening Campaign in partnership with the Met Office. It empowers local communities to prepare for extreme weather—such as hotter summers and wetter winters—by drafting hyper-local, resident-led action plans to protect residents, buildings, and the local way of life. We are part of the pilot for this initiative.

This is a wonderful opportunity, especially for those who do not usually have a 'voice', to come to the first Training Day on Sunday 14 June at the Triangle Centre, Mill Road, Liss, GU33 7DX. We are organising car sharing. Let Leigh (Jackman) or myself know, NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY EVENING, if you would like to join us on Sunday or if you would like to know more.

Heads up for next Friday's unmissable Godshill Matters walking group. It's a week early (12th) becos of IW festival, so don't miss out! We'll catch the 11.02 bus to Rookley (meet usual old smithy car park) then enjoy a 4.5 mile zig zig zag route back to the griffin pub.

Just 2 Days to Go!
Godshill Garage Gallop – Sunday 7th June 10am to 2pm

Only two days to go until the Godshill Garage Gallop returns to the village.
A limited number of printed maps will be available on Sunday. You can pick one up from The Cider Barn on the High Street, and there will also be a few copies available along the route at:
• Demelza Cottage, High Street
• 3 Moor View
• 35 Newport Road

If you can, please save a copy of the map to your phone. There will also be an interactive online map available via a link on our website — more on that in a future post.

To make the most of the day, remember to bring:
• Cash – most stalls won’t be able to take cards
• Bags – you’ll need them for all your bargains

Godshill Garage Gallop – Sunday 7th June

The Godshill Garage Gallop is back this Sunday, and the official map is now out, showing all 38 locations taking part.
A limited number of printed maps will be available on the day from The Cider Barn and at a few points along the route.
Take a relaxed stroll through the village and discover bargains around every corner, driveway, and garden. With so many stops to explore, it’s a brilliant way to enjoy the village at its best.
There’s free parking and plenty of places in the village for refreshments, making it the perfect way to enjoy a summer Sunday.
