Tuesday Blessings,

This month's AfroArts (Friday 27th June) we are going to be learning about Jamaican Jonkanoo (also known as Junkanoo) a Christmas tradition from the 1700's.
When enslaved Africans and their descendants celebrated holidays granted around Christmas time.
This was done through dance, musical drumming and costumes.
We will be trying our hand at mask making / decorating bring some of the main characters to life , with our own twist.

Characters include:
The King and Queen
Pitchy patchy
Belly woman
Horse head and many others.

Look forward to seeing you all

Xx
