We are a drama activities group designed specifically with young people in mind. We run weekly sessions to help boost confidence, creativity and charisma!

🎬🌟 Lights, camera, ACTION! 🌟🎭

Our amazing members have been putting their creativity to the test by making their very own adverts to spread the word about the group! 🎥👏

And the best bit? They did it all themselves! 🤩 The children came up with the concepts, wrote the scripts and filmed everything themselves. From the first spark of an idea to getting in front of the camera, they’ve shown fantastic imagination, teamwork and creativity. 💡🎬

This is the first of our adverts, with more to follow, so keep your eyes peeled! 👀✨ We can’t wait to share what else our brilliant young creatives have been working on.

A HUGE thank you to our wonderful volunteer Grace for taking all their hard work and editing it together into the finished adverts. We’re so grateful for the time and creativity you’ve given to help bring the children’s ideas to life! 💛👏

🎭Weekly Recap 🎭

This week the children enjoyed an exciting drama session filled with creativity, imagination and fun! They had a great time acting out a party, exploring different roles, interacting with one another and using their imaginations to bring the scene to life.

We also spent some time watching our secret project that we have been working on together! 🤫 The children enjoyed seeing what we have been creating and it was lovely to share this special moment as a group.

Well done to everyone for their enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork this week. We can’t wait to continue working on our secret project and see what exciting things are still to come! 🌟

🎭 Weekly Recap🎭

This week, we had a fantastic session filled with a mixture of fun games, teamwork challenges and activities designed to develop our acting skills! 🎬

We started with some fun warm-up games to get everyone moving, laughing and ready for the session ahead. We then played a variety of teamwork games using balloons and hoops, encouraging the children to communicate, cooperate and work together to achieve a shared goal. It was wonderful to see everyone supporting one another and having fun along the way!

We also played Keeper of the Keys, a brilliant game that encouraged the children to use their listening skills, concentration and awareness while thinking carefully about their movements.

Throughout the session, everyone was encouraged to get involved, have a go and, most importantly, enjoy themselves. There was lots of laughter, teamwork and creativity throughout!

Well done to everyone for another brilliant week of drama. We look forward to more games, imagination and theatrical fun next session! 🌟🎭

🎭 ACTING OUT! LET THEIR CONFIDENCE TAKE CENTRE STAGE! 🌟
Does your child love performing, creating stories, making people laugh — or perhaps they’re a little shy and could use a confidence boost?

Acting Out! is a fun, friendly youth drama group for children aged 8–16, based at Kingsway Community Centre, Gloucester.

Through the magic of drama, we help young people develop:

🌟 Charisma — discover their voice and presence
🤝 Teamwork — make friends and have fun together

And the best part? You don't need any previous acting experience! Whether your child dreams of the stage or simply wants to try something new, everyone is welcome.

🎭✨ WEEKLY ROUND-UP! ✨🎭

What a fun and energetic session we had this week! 🎉 We started things off with a balloon relay race 🎈, working in pairs to get a balloon from one side of the room to the other as quickly as possible, with the catch being that we could only use a hula hoop! There was plenty of teamwork, strategy and, of course, a few runaway balloons! 😂

We then turned up the energy with a game of Team Tag 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️, using rock, paper, scissors to decide which team would be chasing, keeping everyone on their toes!

Next, we got into the festive spirit 🎄🎅 with some improvisation work. The group created two hilarious festive scenes: “Santa Escapade” and “Ho Ho Havoc”! 🎭 We loved seeing the creativity, teamwork and quick thinking that went into bringing these scenes to life.

To round off the session, we played One Word Story, creating some very interesting and unexpected storylines one word at a time! 📖😂 We also tested our memories with the classic “I Went Shopping” game 🛒 and let’s just say remembering everyone’s shopping list isn’t as easy as it sounds!

A big WELCOME to Nicki, who came along this week to help out as a volunteer! 👋💛 It was lovely to have her join us, and we hope we’ll see her back with us again soon!

🎭✨ WEEKLY ROUND-UP! ✨🎭

We’re back! 🙌 After a lovely summer break, it was fantastic to welcome everyone back for our first session of the new term. 💛

We kicked things off with plenty of fun and games, including Down in the Jungle, Sardines, Change If… and Zombie Penguins 🐒🦖🐧 There was lots of laughter along the way!

We also got stuck into some improv work, using our creativity and teamwork to create all sorts of objects using just our bodies. 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♂️ It was brilliant to see everyone working together, listening to each other and coming up with some imaginative ideas! 🎭

We were also delighted to welcome Ariel, our new member, and Grace, our new volunteer. A very warm welcome to you both! We’re so happy to have you join our drama family! ❤️

And finally, it was lovely to have Rob pop in and see us before he heads off to university. 🎓 We’ll miss you, Rob, and wish you lots of luck for this exciting new chapter! 💙

What a brilliant first week back, we can’t wait to see what the rest of the term brings! 🎭✨

🎭 WE’RE LOOKING FOR NEW VOLUNTEERS! ❤️

Do you love drama, enjoy working with young people, or simply want to be part of a fun and friendly team?

Acting Out is looking for new volunteers to join us and help support our youth drama group! 🎬✨

We meet Wednesday evenings during term time, 6:30–8:30pm, in Hall 2 at Kingsway Community Centre.

And the best bit? You don’t need to commit to every week! We understand that everyone has busy lives, so we’re happy to be flexible and work around your availability.

Whether you have lots of theatre experience or simply have enthusiasm, creativity and a willingness to get involved, we’d love to hear from you! ❤️

🎭 A HUGE thank you to our amazing Acting Out volunteers! ❤️

As another chapter of Acting Out comes to a close, we want to take a moment to say a very special thank you to the incredible volunteers who give their time, energy, creativity and enthusiasm to our young people.

You have each played such an important part in making Acting Out the wonderful, welcoming and fun group that it is. We honestly couldn’t do it without you! ❤️

This year, we’re saying a particularly big goodbye to a few of our team as exciting new adventures await…

🌟 Vicki has given so many years of her time, energy and passion to Acting Out, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has done for the group and our young people over the years. Now, she’s embarking on a well-deserved new chapter, spending time with her husband Guy and their two dogs, Buddy and Ted, as they travel around the country in their camper van. 🚐🐾

We hope this next chapter brings you plenty of adventures, relaxation and wonderful memories. Thank you for everything, Vicki, you will always be part of the Acting Out family. ❤️

🌟 Raya, having finished her F2 position at Gloucester Royal Hospital, is heading north to Newcastle with her boyfriend Brandon. We’re so excited for everything this next chapter has in store for you, although we’re definitely going to miss you! 💙

🌟 Robbie is heading off to university in Chichester to study Theatre. We couldn’t be more thrilled to see where your passion and talent take you, and we know you’ll be brilliant! 🎭🎓

From September, Amy and Luis lead will our fantastic volunteer team, and we’re so grateful to have them continuing to support Acting Out and our young people. We’re very excited to see what the next year brings! ❤️

To you all, thank you for everything you do, for every rehearsal, every laugh, every bit of encouragement and every moment you’ve given to Acting Out. You’ll always be part of the Acting Out family, and we wish Vicki, Raya and Robbie all the very best for their next adventures.

Go smash it, guys! We’ll miss you! ❤️🎭

Morning everyone! Just a reminder there will be no session tonight. We’ll be back next week 🎭

Sorry everyone 😔 After speaking with the Town Council, we’ve had to cancel tonight’s drama session due to the extreme heat ☀️🥵

Unfortunately, the centre doesn’t have air conditioning and the room is already very warm. Most other groups in the building have also cancelled, so although we’re sorry for the late notice, we feel this is the safest option for everyone 💛

Amy will be away on holiday for the next two weeks 🌴 Raya & Luis⁩ will be running session while she’s away. They’re both on the WhatsApp group, so please feel free to contact them here if you need anything 😊

We’ll be running as normal next week 1 July 🎭, but will need to cancel the following week 8 July due to volunteer availability.

We’ll then be back on Wednesday 15 July 😊

Thanks for your understanding and hope everyone manages to stay cool this evening! 🧊☀️
