A Different Perspective on Breast Cancer...

Join Alan Wake, creator and star of the Edinburgh Fringe show Manogram, for an informal conversation about the inspiration behind the show, the conversations it has sparked, and an audience Q&A.

Manogram tells the story of a man diagnosed with breast cancer, exploring surgery, treatment and side effects from a perspective that is rarely heard. It's an honest, humorous and moving look at love, friendship and finding moments of laughter through adversity.

Whether you've been impacted by breast cancer, are supporting someone who has, or are simply interested in hearing a different perspective, we'd love to welcome you.

I’m delighted to be attending a Wimbledon-themed Afternoon Tea Party Fundraiser tomorrow, as a guest of the fantastic charity Breast Friends and Family

​I'm so grateful for the invitation and honored to represent Male Breast Cancer Support at this event. It's an important reminder that no one has to face breast cancer alone.

​I’ll be sure to share updates tomorrow. Here’s to collaboration in raising awareness and supporting a great cause!

12 months ago today, this photo was taken right in the middle of my chemotherapy treatment for male breast cancer and I absolutely hate it!

Looking back at it now brings up a lot of memories, but more than anything, it reminds me of why its important to keep speaking out.

Guys, breast cancer doesn't discriminate. It isn't just a disease that affects women. I learned that lesson, and my message to anyone reading this today is simple:

Don't be like me. See your GP!

If you notice a lump, a change, or anything at all that doesn't feel right, please don't push it to the back of your mind. Don't wait, don't make excuses, and don't assume it's nothing.

Catching it early makes all the difference. I left it for 9 months before seeing a doctor! Im fortunate to still be here but I did need the full range of treatment to give me a fighting chance.

And that fight continues to this day!

To everyone who has supported me and our awareness work, or sent a kind word over the last year — thank you!

Let's keep sharing the message and breaking the stigma. It really could save a life. 🩵

SupportHER & HIM is back this Wednesday 27th May, 6–8pm at the House of Hope.

This group is for men impacted by breast cancer, whether you’ve been diagnosed yourself or you’re supporting a partner, family member or someone close to you.

Led by Paul, from Male Breast Cancer Support who brings his own lived experience, SupportHER & HIM is a relaxed cuppa and chat with no pressure to speak. Just a chance to connect with others who understand.
