🌱 BUTA Allotment Update

A little update from our community allotment project.

With the sunny weather finally here, we are trying to keep up with the work on the plot step by step — preparing the space, clearing the ground and slowly bringing the allotment back to life.

It is still a work in progress, but every small step matters. This project is about creating a green, welcoming space where our community can grow, learn, spend time outdoors and work together.

Невелике оновлення з нашого громадського городнього проєкту.

Поки нарешті є сонячна погода, ми намагаємося крок за кроком продовжувати роботу на ділянці — готуємо простір, прибираємо землю та поступово повертаємо allotment до життя.

Це ще процес, але кожен маленький крок важливий. Для нас цей проєкт — про зелений і відкритий простір, де громада може вирощувати, вчитись, проводити час на свіжому повітрі та працювати разом.

We’ll be walking on Sunday 26 April as part of the Big Stroll, starting in the 8:30am wave.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Минулого тижня в парламенті Шотландії відбулися дебати щодо України після подання Кеннетом Гібсоном (Kenneth Gibson MSP), присвячені четвертій річниці повномасштабного вторгнення росії в Україну. Представники BUTA мали честь бути присутніми в залі парламенту разом із Ukrainian Solidarity Campaign Scotland.

Після дебатів ми мали можливість особисто познайомитися з Кеннетом Гібсоном та поспілкуватися з ним. Ми щиро цінуємо його послідовну підтримку України та української громади в Шотландії.

🤝 Ми також дякуємо всім членам парламенту, які виступили під час обговорення та наголосили на важливості подальшої підтримки України, її свободи, суверенітету та територіальної цілісності, а також українців, які зараз проживають у Шотландії.

З особливою вдячністю ми почули під час виступу Пола Свіні (Paul Sweeney MSP) згадку про нашу громаду. Для нас це було теплим і важливим моментом — відчувати підтримку від представника Глазго, який добре розуміє місцеві громади та їхні виклики.

💙💛 Для таких громад, як наша, ця солідарність справді має велике значення.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Last week at the Scottish Parliament held a debate on Ukraine following a motion lodged by Kenneth Gibson MSP, marking the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Representatives of BUTA were honoured to attend the debate alongside Ukrainian Solidarity Campaign Scotland.

After the debate, we had the opportunity to briefly meet Kenneth Gibson MSP in person. We truly appreciate his continued support for Ukraine and for Ukrainian communities across Scotland.

🤝 We would also like to thank all MSPs who contributed to the debate and highlighted the importance of continued support for Ukraine — its freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity — as well as support for Ukrainians currently living in Scotland.

We were especially grateful to hear Paul Sweeney MSP mention our community during his speech. It was a warm and meaningful moment for us — to feel that support from a Glasgow representative who understands local communities and their challenges.

💙💛 For communities like ours, this solidarity truly matters.

Four years since the beginning of the full-scale war against Ukraine.
Yesterday, members of BUTA stood together with the community in Glasgow to honour those who have lost their lives and to express support for Ukraine.
Ukraine is still fighting.
And Ukraine is still standing.

We remember.
We stand.
We stay united.

Thank you to the organisers and everyone who took part.

Вчора члени BUTA були разом із громадою в Глазго, щоб вшанувати пам’ять загиблих і висловити підтримку Україні.
Україна продовжує боротися.
І продовжує стояти.

Пам’ятаємо.
Підтримуємо.
Єднаємося.

🌷 Spring is on its way to Springburn!

This week our volunteers planted spring bulbs in the neighbourhood — and now we’re looking forward to seeing the first flowers bloom 🌱

It’s a small action, but it brings colour, care and community spirit to our area.

A big thank you to our partners and everyone who supported this initiative — we truly appreciate your collaboration.

Together we are building a stronger community 💙💛

A children's badminton club will start up at the Glasgow Club from 1 Feb running weekly on Sunday from 2-4pm for children aged 6-16 years.
