Look at all this beautiful veg! Folks from the GAMH - Glasgow Association for Mental Health groups team came by to drop off some lovely onions, garlic, and chard from their allotment and we've been loving using it in the cafe 🫛🥕🧄 delicious and fresh - cooked and served by members and staff working together every day 💪

We are looking for a creative, engaging, empathetic and encouraging individual who can help to support our wonderful members who lead up the podcast.

What we’re looking for - group facilitation skills, flexibility of approach, communication skills, some audio recording experience (doesn’t have to be extensive), and a sense of humour!

If you think you’d be a good fit email Eleanor at e.paul@gamh for a full role description and any questions (please don’t dm!)

No experience of working within mental health is necessary, all we are looking for is someone with a positive energy who can get on well with the group.

Application will be a short paragraph about your interest in the role and any relevant experience. Shortlisted folk will be invited to an informal chat to discuss the project. We’d like to speak to people week beginning 27th of July.

Here at The Hub we've been learning how to propagate houseplants! Zoe and Annie led a session talking all things plant care, and how to take cuttings of your plants and get them to grow 🌱 everyone got some mini plants to take home! 🌿

The Flourish Times is hot off the presses! Hub members - come on in and pick yours up from reception. This month we've got a lovely feature on the community cafe lunches, poems, reviews, and some excellent artwork celebrating Scotland's world cup efforts ⚽

Our lovely colleague Eleanor and her ultimate frisbee friends held a fundraiser tournament to raise money for our community cafe - and they raised an incredible £586.54! The money will go towards our Fareshare membership, providing healthy, delicious food at low cost to our members 🥑🫜🥙 thanks so much ultimate team!

Member Stuart is on the reception desk today - and putting together a social media post!

Here at the GAMH Community Hub we all work together to get the work done. Members take part in the day to day tasks, Including..... Posters, emails, reception, finance, cleaning, serving lunch and a whole lot more...

Anne Marie is usually on reception in the morning - she said she likes getting to know people when they come in & out & answering the phone.

Stuart said - I like taking messages, saying hello to people & chatting 🗣

Last week was bike week (every week is bike week for some of us)! We celebrated with a cycle skills session, an introduction to the mechanics of the bicycle and a special art group using bike parts to print.

Special thanks to Gear for lending us a tool for part of our week.

Get on yer bike - FOR BIKE WEEK 2026! This week we've had a cycle skills session, a chat about why cycling is so good, an info session on how bikes work and how to do repairs, and today we'll be making art prints with old bike components 🚲

For member, cycling enthusiast, and bike tinkerer Zoe there are lots of good things about cycling:

physical health 💪
mental health 🧠
it's less crowded than public transport so good for anxiety 🚌
repairing and building bikes is a good outlet 🛠

To anyone who isn't sure about cycling Zoe says "there's so many great cycling charities and communities in Glasgow - even if you think you can't do it there will be someone to help you. Bike nerds like talking about bikes!" 🤙
