Week 4 of our 'Her Future Enterprises' program - Demystifying Business Finance 💰✨

Numbers and accounting can feel overwhelming when starting up a business, but this week we tackled those fears head-on! 💪🏼

A huge thank you to Julie and Katie from Clarity Accounting Scotland for guiding our cohort through sole trader vs limited setup, digital platforms like Xero and QuickBooks, and making sense of quarterly reporting.

Our entrepreneurs transformed what felt like a daunting subject into a total sense of empowerment—even reframing tracking receipts into a calm, weekly coffee-shop ritual!

Crafty Chats was all about the chitchat last week! During our normal check in, one of the women received a lot of support from the group. Sessions like these are so valuable, at the end the participant said 'I feel so much better, I feel free' 💓 The group all chatted together whilst making & decorating their own fans 🪭

Fixed Term: September 2026 to February 2027 Location: Govan and Greater Glasgow Hours: Part-time (10 hours per week, including evenings and weekends)
Salary: £18 per hour.

Community-based project engaging marginalised women & children across Govan/ Greater Glasgow, to promote inclusion, wellbeing, & stronger community connection through creative arts, cultural activities, dance, storytelling etc.

- Making Paper aeroplanes as part of the "Acceptance & Letting Go" theme
- A lovely visit to Glasgow Women's Aid
- Arts & Crafts to create a Calm & Still environment
- Poetry
- A trip to The Govan Stones & The PI (Pearce Institute)

We have our last Mindful Moments session of the month this Monday 31st Aug which will have a theme of "Fitting Together" and the activity will involve making a Tapestry Square & having a discussion about community and what it means to us 🫶🏻

Last week our PVCL & Crafty Chats groups had a lovely outing to Loch Lomond Shores! Everyone enjoyed getting out into nature, taking strolls through the park, getting creative with a nature-inspired art activity and of course making time for a cuppa and our packed lunches ☕🌿

The day started with beautiful sunshine as we left Govan and thankfully the sunshine stayed with us for the first half of the trip... until the heavens opened! But a little rain wasn't going to stop our creative women - they took shelter under the trees and carried on creating their beautiful nature-inspired masterpieces 🎨✨

"My favourite part was when we were all drawing, I enjoyed taking shelter under the trees while it rained heavily" - Claire

"I love to come to the beach or here, it's so nice even in the rain"- - Shagufta

There was a lot of talk about how nice it was to be away from their usual surroundings and being in nature helping with mental wellbeing.

"Standing at the edge of the water...I think being outdoors in beautiful scenery really does positive things for mental health and physical health" - Suzanne

"It was good to get out and get out of Govan! I'd rather be here than sitting in my house just wasting time" - Misba

The women also enjoyed reconnecting with others that they had not seen in a while.

"I enjoyed connecting with nature, hearing the birds, the view and building my relations with others" - Susy

We had an incredible second week of our Her Future Enterprises program with Esraa from Pinnacle Business Hub Ltd Pinnacle Business Hub who led a power-packed session on market research, competitor analysis, and finding our ideal customer ✨📈

15 amazing women sat around the table today, diving deep into what makes their businesses unique. We tackled big topics like defining target demographics, using Google Trends to spot market demand & turning local competition into motivation by leaning into our individual USPs.

The energy in the room was electric! Notebooks were filled, confidence grew & everyone left ready to take on the week’s research challenge 🔎
