Another week, another case that reminds us why we refuse to stay silent.
“False allegations are rare” is a phrase repeated constantly in public debate — yet every single week more stories emerge of lives destroyed by allegations that simply were not true. The reality is this: only a very small number of false allegations are ever proven to be false. That does not mean the rest are true. Many cases collapse through lack of evidence, contradictions, withdrawn complaints or findings that never receive the same headlines as the original accusation.
Behind every wrongful allegation is a human cost that society rarely wants to acknowledge. Innocent men losing careers, reputations, homes, relationships and in some cases contact with their children. Families living in isolation, parents watching their sons deteriorate mentally, partners carrying the burden in silence while being judged by their communities.
The trauma does not simply disappear when a case ends. Many innocent men are left with severe anxiety, depression and PTSD symptoms long after the courts move on. Sleepless nights, panic attacks, fear of being recognised, fear of forming future relationships and the constant feeling that their lives can never fully recover. Their families suffer this too.
Justice for Innocent Men Scotland will continue to speak up for fair trials, proper scrutiny of evidence and recognition that false allegations do happen far more often than many are willing to admit. Supporting due process and fairness does not attack genuine victims — it protects the integrity of justice for everyone.
Just more Monday madness.
Just more shattered lives.
Just more families paying the price when the system gets it wrong.

⚖️ WOMAN IN COURT ACCUSED OF PERVERTING COURSE OF JUSTICE
A woman has appeared in court accused of perverting the course of justice by making a false claim of being r**ed.
Appearing in the dock of Belfast Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 32-year-old Olewabunmi Ojo confirmed she was aware of the single charge against her.
Ojo, with an address on Bloomfield Street in east Belfast, faces one charge of perverting the course of justice on 21 January last year.
The background to the alleged offence was not opened but the particulars of the charge allege that Ojo “did an act which had a tendency to pervert the course of public justice, namely made allegations of assault and r**e against a male, which you knew to be false.”
A defence lawyer conceded there was a prima facie case against Ojo, while the defendant declined to comment on the charge or to call evidence on her own behalf.
Freeing Ojo on her own bail, District Judge Steven Keown returned the case to Belfast Crown Court but did not set a date for the arraignment.
