To mark Mental Health Awareness Week, The Jackpot Community Trust were over the moon to hand over another cheque for £25,000, to our friends at SAMH.

This means we have now raised an incredible £125,000 towards improving mental wellbeing in Scotland.

None of this is possible without the support of The Scotto and their players, who continue to help us contribute to good causes across the country.

£125,000. That’s how much The Jackpot Community Trust has contributed towards fighting mental health. Our latest donation of £25,000 has taken us to that remarkable total.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we decided to pay a visit to SAMH, where we spoke to CEO, Billy Watson, about just how crucial support like ours is to their organisation.

The work of The Jackpot Community Trust continues to be supported by The Scotto and their players, who are the backbone of the positive change we have been able to drive across the country so far.

📢 Exciting News from the Jackpot Community Trust

We are delighted to announce that from the 1st of May 2026, the Jackpot Community Trust will take on the promotion of the Scottish Children's Lottery and assume responsibility for the distribution of the good cause funding it generates.

This is a significant and exciting milestone for Jackpot Community Trust, and we are proud to extend our commitment to supporting communities across the UK by championing the vital work being done to improve the lives of children and young people across Scotland.

🎟️ The Scottish Children's Lottery joins The Scotto and What a Lotto as part of the Jackpot Community Trust family of society lotteries, bringing with it the same great prizes and continuing to raise vital funds for children and young people across Scotland.

💰 For organisations that submitted an application during the Scottish Children's Lottery Trust's recent funding window, the assessment process continues as planned, the evaluation process will now be managed by the Jackpot Community Trust rather than the Scottish Children's Lottery Trust. Funding announcements are expected by the end of June 2026 with funding distributed in August 2026. The online grant platform remains fully operational and can be accessed using your existing log in details as normal.

Since 2024, we've been proud to partner with and provide them with over £100,000 in funding to help bring their incredible vision to life.

Founded by Lisa Fleming, who was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in 2017, House of Hope provides a welcoming, non-clinical sanctuary offering vital holistic support services. Scotland's first bespoke breast cancer support and wellbeing centre, their Edinburgh centre is now open and welcoming visitors to classes, workshops and drop-in sessions.

Breast cancer will impact 1 in 7 women in Scotland during their lifetime, which is why places like House of Hope matter so deeply. And every ticket played through helps keep their doors open. 💙

Since joining the Jackpot Community Trust family in 2025, we've been proud to direct £10,000 towards giveadogabone.net truly unique and life-changing work, and we're looking forward to so much more ahead.

Give a Dog a Bone is an award-winning charity tackling loneliness and social isolation for older adults through animal companionship. They support people over 60 on low income to afford a rescue pet companion by paying the initial rehoming fee and continuing to provide monthly support with insurance fees and pet food costs. They also run community spaces across the country offering older adults a safe space to learn new skills, make new friends, and spend time with dogs.

It really is a win-win, a person gets a companion, and a rescue animal gets a home. 🐶

We popped along to The Gathering in Edinburgh on Wednesday and honestly… what a day. 💬✨

It was so good to catch up with some of the brilliant charities doing incredible work in their communities and to hear how funding raised through the The Scotto is helping make things happen. Those conversations are always the best part.

We squeezed in a few workshops too, lots of note-taking 👀✍️.

💜 £20,000 donated to Teenage Cancer Trust

Today, on World Cancer Day, we’re proud to share that an additional £10,000 has been donated to Teenage Cancer Trust, taking our total support to £20,000.

This year’s theme, United by Unique, reminds us that every cancer journey is different and that young people facing cancer need care designed around their individual needs.

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity providing specialised nursing care and tailored support for young people aged 13–24 with cancer, and for the families who stand beside them. Their work ensures that young people aren’t treated like children or older adults, but supported in a way that truly reflects their lives, experiences and futures.

This donation has been made possible thanks to the incredible community of people who play What a Lotto, with funds distributed through Jackpot Community Trust to support vital charitable work.

Together, we’re helping young people facing cancer feel understood, supported and empowered at one of the most challenging times of their lives.
