🟦 🟨 130,000 UNITS OF HOPE FOR UKRAINE
Our SoapAid partnership is about more than just hygiene—it’s about dignity, resilience, and saving lives in the heart of a crisis.
Yesterday, we hit a massive milestone: 12 tonnes of SoapAid (130,000 units) were dispatched from Glasgow, destined for families in Ukraine.
Working in partnership with New Forest For Ukraine, this shipment is heading to those living in unimaginable conditions. With little access to clean water, fuel shortages, and constant power cuts, something as simple as a bar of soap becomes a vital tool. It helps a family stay free from infection and restores a sense of pride and self-esteem amidst the disruption of war.
🌍A Global Collaboration with Local Roots
This mission wouldn't be possible without our incredible partners:
Soapworks Ltd: Our Glasgow partners who, for 25 years, have backed our shared belief that handsoap should be free-to-access for those affected by conflict.
New Forest for Ukraine: Elaine, Mandy, and their team work tirelessly from the south coast of England. Their passion for high-impact, best-practice aid makes them the perfect fit for the Glasgow Caring City model.
"It’s easy to forget that a war is being waged just on the other side of Europe," says Ross Galbraith. "It’s only a few hours by plane to the Ukrainian border—closer than many of our summer holiday destinations. This isn't about inciting fear; it’s about recognizing that these are our near-neighbours. As fair-minded communities, we must stand by them in their time of crisis."
🆘How You Can Help 🚚
Moving 12 tonnes of product from Glasgow to the South Coast (to the New Forest team) comes with significant logistics costs.
