Earlier this week we had the privilege to present a cheque for £250 to Epilepsy Scotland, something that’s close to our past Deacon Colin Botfields heart, who has had to face the challenges of Epilepsy himself.

Secretary Willie Jones along with Colin Botfield, Collector Sandy Black and Master Court member Alan Deans presented the cheque earlier this week.

In the 19th century Govan had two newspapers of its own namely the Govan Chronicle and the Govan Press the latter published by the Cossar family as recently as the 1980s. These often carried details of our events. It had its own patent printing press and the distinctive building is still at 577 Govan Road
