Earlier this week we had the privilege to present a cheque for £250 to Epilepsy Scotland,something that’s close to our past Deacon Colin Botfields heart, who has had to face the challenges of Epilepsy himself.

Secretary Willie Jones along with Colin Botfield, Collector Sandy Black and Master Court member Alan Deans presented the cheque earlier this week.

Sandy Black our Collector and Past Deacon Colin Botfield and Master Court Member Alan Deans presented a cheque for £500 to Kevin and John at GYIP to support with the upcoming Govan Fair Cup Tournament.

The Society are delighted to support this fantastic organisation for a 2nd year, the organisation do so much for our young people here in Govan.

The society returned back to Ibrox Stadium for our Annual Burns Supper, we are delighted to have raised over £3,500 on the night through ticket sales, raffle and our Auction.

We would like thank everyone you attending for their generosity and support.

Finally we are grateful to the catering team Elior for an excellent meal and great service!

In the 19th century Govan had two newspapers of its own namely the Govan Chronicle and the Govan Press the latter published by the Cossar family as recently as the 1980s. These often carried details of our events. It had its own patent printing press and the distinctive building is still at 577 Govan Road
