A very big THANKYOU to everyone who visited Brackenbrae House in Bishopbriggs last weekend. Our Victorian Christmas event was once more a great success with 193 children and their families attending the two day event.
Adults enjoyed tea/coffee mincepies etc while children crafted before being personally called to meet Mr and Mrs Claus. Children sat on the sleigh and gave Santa their Christmas list while parents took photographs and snowflakes gently fell on the winter scene.

The house itself was looking magnificent in all its Victorian splendour thanks to weeks of hard work by the Creative Care team.
A surprise visit from Council leader Gordon Low, local MSP Rona Mackay and prospective candidate Denis Johnston gave the opportunity to not only show the latest house improvements but also the four foot pictures all made from paper recently on show at the SEC.

Brackenbrae House has open Creative Crafting sessions from 10.30 to 3.00pm every Monday and Tuesday beginning again 5th January. Bring your own craft, knitting, crochet project or let us teach you the papercraft 3d decoupage, stitching cards, parchment or iris folding. No booking is necessary. £5 on the day.
Freshly made soup and filled rolls are available at lunchtime and the kettle is always on.

Nearly ready! Brackenbrae is looking magnificent in all its Victorian splendour, Santas grotto looks fabulous and eagerly awaits the arrival of Mr and Mrs Claus on their sleigh. Word is Santa is more than happy to take you onboard for photos.
Sadly this being such a busy time of year Mr and Mrs Claus are only with us for one weekend. A WEEK ON SATURDAY/SUNDAY!! 29th/30th November
10am to 4pm. Children’s crafting, tea/coffee, cake ‘n candy, Christmas shop while you wait to be personally called to see Santa. All for £6 per child. Make this a Christmas event to remember.

Thankyou so much to the Brackenbrae House team for all your love and support in putting together the fabulous stand at last weeks Christmas Crafting Show at the SEC. 15,000 people attended. We spoke to all of them!!
Once again we had the opportunity to fly the flag for East Dunbartonshire as the only place in Great Britain to be teaching the papercraft 3d Decoupage. Despite our fifty year history I still find it thrilling when folks can’t believe all our pictures are made from paper images.
As usual we extend an open invitation to anyone passing Brackenbrae House in Bishopbriggs on a Monday or Tuesday to pop in for coffee or even a plate of homemade soup and see how local folks spend their leisure time.

Lots of stories to share of the happy times teaching SWI Summer Schools in Orkney and Stirling University this past summer.

Hello everyone!
I’m so sorry for not being in touch sooner.
We have been so busy with classes workshops, a stand at the Creative Crafts Exhibition at Glasgows SEC and last week our wonderful five day residential at Carronvale with 27 of us crafting from morning to night. I’m told weather wise it was a bad week but we didn’t notice!! Reservations have been made for three more sleep-overs to see us through to the end of next year 👍
It has been lovely welcoming folks into Brackenbrae House on Mondays and Tuesdays to see what we do and view our exhibition of pictures and class work. We have an open doors policy and all are welcome. If you come at 12.30 you might even get a plate of Jeans freshly made soup available each class day. Give us a ring at 0141 772 7797 to let us know you’re coming. The office is open Monday Tuesday and Thursdays from 9.30 to 3.30pm.
