Coalition of Carers in Scotland have a session on this Friday 21st August 10am - 11.30am to look at potentials changed for unpaid carers in employment.
The consultation is looking for carers to join the session and hear your thoughts on employment and experiences from carers.

Join us on Friday and help shape our response to the UK Government's consultation on potential changes to employment rights for unpaid carers, and for parents of seriously ill children including:

- giving carers more unpaid time off work
- letting carers take a longer break from work and still have their job to come back to
- introducing paid time off for carers
- a new type of leave and pay for parents of seriously ill children, called Hugh’s Law

This is a real chance to help shape what support carers can get from employers in the future, and we'd love to hear your views.

Our session is from 10am until 11.30am.

CALL Scotland are printing their free consultation service to look at toys or ideas that can help adapt games and toys to meet the needs of your child.

For those children with additional support needs who struggle to break down the barriers to play or who can’t access toys and games.

Our lovely staff members from the Carers Centre, Karen from the Adult team and Ashleigh from the Young Carers team attended the East Renfrewshire Council Facilities Management annual Conference at Barrhead High to ensure that employees from across the council are aware of the services available to them if they require help and support as well as information.

Self Directed Support East Renfrewshire have a new 4 week block for those wanting to understand more about transitions that will have an impact on the young person with additional support needs and their families.

The sessions are to help know more about services and how things may look going forward.

Are you a parent or guardian of a young person with additional support needs and beginning to think about your transition out of school, wondering what is next and starting the transition into adult social care services.

Our transitions course aims to provide the information, resources and connections to make this journey less intimidating.
