Karen from the Centre has attended the Wellbeing Event at Barrhead council offices to inform and offer support to staff within East Renfrewshire Council.

Thanks for the invite, always good to link in and promote the support we offer to carers locally 😊

It's National Wellbeing Week this week and important for us to look after ourselves and take time to do things that we enjoy. This can be difficult when in a caring role as time and demands can impact the opportunities carers have to access time for themselves.

Even if it is a chance to recognise what you would like to do and what makes you happy or relaxed and try to make a conscious effort of doing more of what you get a lot from.

Look after yourselves and take time if you can, to focus on yourself, even if it is for a short period of time to be in the moment and reflect 😊

Carers Scotland are encouraging carers to complete the State of Caring survey to capture experiences of what it is and how it impacts being a carer.

Please see below for clicking on the link to complete ⬇️

The 2026 survey is now live. This is the largest and longest running survey to gather the experiences and needs of unpaid carers.

Every year thousands of carers and former carers share their experiences via our State of Caring Survey. Their insights shape our campaigns and policy work and provide vital evidence for everyone striving to make life better for carers.

At a time when decisions are being made about the future of health, social care and support for carers, it has never been more important that carers have their say.

Take part today, and share the survey in your networks, to help build a powerful case for change:

As part of Carers Week we were approached by Harrods the H Beauty store in Silverburn to offer carers a beauty masterclass.

This was a wonderful session to learn more and feel at peace in a relaxing environment.

Thanks to H Beauty and all the staff at the store for their help and direction to all that attended.

It’s important to take time out for yourself and this was ideal to have some pamper time 😊

Carers Week 2026 is centred on the theme of Building Carer Friendly Communities.

Mobilise helps organisations build these carer-friendly communities through digital carer support that complements existing services and during Carers Week, and are offering a programme of free online events and peer support opportunities covering topics including:

β€’ Caring and equality

β€’ Balancing work and caring responsibilities

β€’ Campaigning and complaining effectively

β€’ Specialist support for neurological carers

β€’ Men's carer meet-ups

β€’ Community conversations and peer support sessions

All of these activities are designed to fit around busy caring lives, with flexible online access and evening options available.

We have something happening every day Monday through Sunday.

See what's on in our timetable for Carer's Week 2025. A chance to join in with our community of carers.

08/06/2026

Carers Week 2026 takes place from Monday 8 June to Sunday 14 June 2026.

The annual campaign highlights the vital contributions of unpaid carers and aims to connect them with essential support.

This year's theme is "Building Carer Friendly Communities," focusing on ensuring workplaces, healthcare providers, and local communities recognise, value, and practically support unpaid carers.

Tomorrow morning we have a coffee morning for carers at Sandlers, Eastwood Park, 10.30am - 12.30pm and have RAMH coming along as well as Vicky Tait from the HSCP to meet with carers and have a chat about what may be going on for them.

If interested, please contact Vicki Kitson by email on [email protected]
