vital we listen to those whom we support enabling young people to ‘OWN’ their projects so that we may understand the personal issues they themselves want to tackle by being personally involved.

One Community Scotland was delighted to attend the Children in Scotland Annual Conference , bringing together practitioners, young people, policymakers and organisations committed to improving outcomes for children and families across Scotland.

It was an inspiring few days filled with thought-provoking discussions, shared learning, and valuable opportunities to connect with others working across the sector. We were particularly encouraged by the strong focus on collaboration, participation, and ensuring that children and young people's voices remain at the heart of decision-making.

Thank you to Children in Scotland for hosting such an engaging and impactful event, and to everyone we met throughout the conference. We look forward to building on the conversations started there and continuing to work together to create stronger, more inclusive communities across Scotland.

Events like these remind us that meaningful change happens when communities, organisations and young people come together with a shared purpose.

Behind every programme, session, and conversation is a young person working towards something greater for themselves. Whether it’s building confidence, improving wellbeing, developing skills, or simply feeling more connected, these stories remind us that meaningful support can have a lasting impact. We are proud to celebrate the voices and achievements of the young people we work with every day.

What an amazing weekend 🙌

Our young people had the chance to spend their weekend at and they absolutely loved it!

Supporting positive mental wellbeing and reducing social isolation is a big part of what we do, and this weekend really brought that to life 💚

From rock climbing 🧗‍♂️ and archery 🏹 to outdoor adventures and wellbeing activities, it was packed with fun, laughter and new experiences. It also gave everyone the chance to build confidence, make new connections and just enjoy being together in a supportive environment.

Huge thank you to The King's Foundation , Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector
for making this possible, opportunities like this really do make a difference!

What a way to wrap up an amazing final week of our annual 🌱

Over the last couple of days, our young people have taken part in some fantastic employability sessions, including CV and cover letter writing, one-to-one support, and interview skills workshops.

A huge thank you to for delivering an engaging CV and cover letter session, and to and from @ for leading such an insightful interview skills workshop.

Our young people also gained valuable knowledge about apprenticeship and graduate opportunities, helping them feel more confident about their future pathways.

It’s been an incredible week filled with energy, engagement, and growth and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved 👏

We’re proud to share that our young people at OCS recently visited the NatWest Group HQ as part of our annual programme 🌱

During the visit, they had the opportunity to learn about the wide range of apprenticeship pathways available, gain valuable insights into the world of work and speak directly with professionals about their career journeys.

Experiences like this help inspire confidence, broaden horizons, and show what’s possible for the future. A huge thank you to NatWest for hosting and supporting our young people on their journey!

Yesterday, young people who engage with our charity came into the Youth Hub to start shaping the interior of the space.

From furniture placement to the overall feel of the room, these early conversations are about ensuring the hub reflects the needs and voices of the young people who will use it.

A space becomes meaningful when the people inside it help shape it.

This is their space, and we’re excited to see it come to life.
