Langside, Battlefield & Camphill Community Council

Langside, Battlefield & Camphill Community Council LBCCC is a voluntary but statutory body. We’re a group of local people who care about - and are committed to improving - our area.

We speak out on behalf of local residents on issues of concern and also pursue projects of interest to our neighbourhoods. We are local people representing residents in this area of the South Side. We want to improve the quality of life and press for action on local issues. Our meetings are open to the public and take place monthly on Monday evenings at 81 Carmichael Place. Community Councils are

voluntary organisations established by statute. We are automatically consulted by Glasgow City Council on planning, licensing, traffic and parking controls and other matters. Local councillors, community police and, by invitation, council officers attend our monthly meetings to report on developments and respond to local concerns. Other bodies such as Greater Glasgow NHS and Scottish Power, also use the CC as a means of local consultation. Our views therefore carry some weight and we can often get a local problem dealt with quickly. We are not a political body and views are expressed upon a personal basis. You are welcome to attend and we are always interested in hearing from people who think they have something to offer as a community councillor.

Communication about the works due to take place at Grange Road to correct the abysmal state of the road.

We're convinced as a community council that this wouldn't be getting fixed, had it not been for our raising the concerns and the support of our local councillors. Great work!

Next LBCCC meeting - Tuesday 7th July, 7pm at Finn's Place! See you there! 😁

πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ πŸš— We have escalated concerns from residents to Glasgow City Council about the condition of Grange Road between The Battlefield Rest and Queen's Park.

While we understand that the road will be fully resurfaced pending commencement of the Connecting Battlefield Project, the condition of the road is particularly unsafe at present and requires a temporary solution.

We will update residents upon word back from GCC's neighbourhoods team.
