The community centre committee were saddened to hear of the passing of our former president Donald Wilson.

His family has asked to put out the following statement.

Donald Wilson, who was a resident of Queenzieburn for over 80 years and was proud to be the oldest man in the village, sadly passed away on 7th June.

His family would like to make you aware that his funeral will take place in the village hall on Friday 26th June at 1:15pm.

The funeral cortège will leave Donalds house just after 12:30, travel up Dumbreck Terrace, along Meadowside Road, down the Mill road before looping round past Dykehead farm arriving back at the community centre at 1pm

Our Community Centre AGM takes place tomorrow at 6pm.

Important proposals regarding the future ownership and protection of the hall will be discussed.

🌾😊 QUEENZIEBURN SCARECROW FESTIVAL IS BACK! 😊🌾

It’s time to get creative, Queenzieburn! Throughout the month of May, we’d love to see our village filled with fun, colourful and imaginative scarecrows for everyone to enjoy. 🧑‍🌾🌻

Whether you make something simple, silly, spooky or spectacular — every scarecrow helps make the festival special and brings a smile to people walking around the village. It’s a lovely way for neighbours, friends and families to get involved together and show a bit of community spirit. 💛

So dust off the old clothes, grab some straw and let your imagination run wild!
