Ando Glaso’s mission is to support marginalised Roma people from the various fragmented Roma communities through cultural initiatives that provide access to development and professional opportunities within the creative and cultural sectors. Ando Glaso was established informally in 2016 to encourage greater understanding and participation in the cultural heritage of the Roma people in Scotland aim

ing at stimulating and advancing community cohesion that is built on respect for celebrating diverse cultural identities. The Institute was initiated by a dedicated group of volunteers who shared the passion and desire to further encourage links between the Roma and Scottish diverse cultures at several levels including support and understanding through the promotion of arts and music programmes, educational workshops and seminars, conferences and events at local and national level. In Brief,Ando Glaso is established not only to empower and facilitate support to the Roma community but also to work with various diverse communities and stakeholders to ensure that the Roma community is empowered through celebrating and advancing their cultural heritage as part of their uniqueness while moving towards enhancing their national inclusive identity in Scotland as equal citizens.

Led by acclaimed vocalist A. Kovács, Cigány Karaván is celebrated for its outstanding musicianship, powerful vocals and vibrant rhythms. Rooted in the rich musical heritage of Hungary’s Roma communities, their performance will take audiences on an unforgettable journey through Romani culture.
