Temporary change of address for the Cowlairs Community Flat + Garden 🏠

For the time being, the team and all events in Cowlairs will be based at 252 Keppochhill Rd (just one door down from the community flat).

Following a complaint about the community flat being used as a community base, Glasgow City Council have asked Willowacre Trust to stop using the Community Flat at 250 Keppochhill Road for activities. This means the team will not be able to use the Community flat at the moment.
However, we’re committed to maintaining a community space in Cowlairs and have made a temporary arrangement to use the office just next door at 252 Keppochhill Road as our new base.

📣Temporary change of address! 📣

We are now at 252 Keppochhill Rd (just one door down from the community flat).

Following a complaint about the community flat being used as a community base, Glasgow City Council have asked Willowacre Trust to stop using the Community Flat at 250 Keppochhill Road for community activities. This means we will not be able to use the Community flat at the moment.

However, we’re committed to maintaining a community space in Cowlairs and have made a temporary arrangement to use the office just next door at 252 Keppochhill Road as our new base.

We will be using a room on the ground floor where there is a good-sized activity area, tea & coffee making facilities and a toilet, and your groups and events will run as normal at the same days and times from this new space.

Pets make great companions, but did you know you need permission to keep one in your home?

Pets can bring so much joy to our lives, they keep us company, provide comfort, and can help children learn valuable lessons about responsibility and care.

WSHA are happy for our tenants to keep pets in their homes, as long as they have gained permission from us and - if getting a dog - returned the Dog Owners' Agreement form. This helps us make sure that all our homes, closes and neighbourhoods remain clean and safe for all residents.

Together, we can make sure pet ownership works well for everyone in our communities.

You can find the Permission to Keep a Pet form on our website here: https://westscot.co.uk/tenant-info/.

We'd like to introduce Katie Clark, our new Energy Advice Officer who will be joining our community support services team at Willowacre Trust.

“Hello, I’m Katie, and I’m really pleased to be joining the team as the new Energy Advice Officer. I’ve worked in energy and money advice for over 5 years, supporting people with things like energy bills, energy debt, benefits and the rising cost of living. I’m passionate about helping people who may be struggling to make ends meet and making sure everyone has access to the advice and support they need.
In my new role, I’ll be here to support tenants with all aspects of their home energy needs. Whether you’re worried about your energy bills, struggling with debt, looking for ways to make your home more energy efficient, or simply unsure about what support is available to you, I’m here to help.
With the rising cost of living and increasing energy prices, more households are finding themselves at risk of fuel poverty. My goal is to make things easier by providing practical, friendly advice and helping tenants access any support or savings they may be entitled to.
I’m looking forward to getting to know tenants and the community and hopefully making a positive difference along the way!”

You can contact Katie via email on [email protected] or by calling 0141 550 5600.

Applications are now open for young people to stand in the Scottish Youth Parliament 2026 Elections! A chance for young people aged roughly 14-25 to have their voice heard!

The Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) Elections give young people across Scotland the opportunity to vote for representatives who will speak up on issues that matter to them, such as education, mental health, transport, and the environment. SYP is a youth-led, non-party political organisation that represents young people's views at local and national levels.

A little encouragement from you can have a lasting impact. By encouraging your young person to vote, you're helping them develop confidence, engage with issues they care about, and see how their voice can contribute to positive change in their community.
