🎉 Exciting News! 🎉
Thanks to National Lottery players, Dates-n-Mates has received £10,000 from National Lottery Awards for All in celebration of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

This funding will help Dates-n-Mates create more opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to build friendships, connect with others, and take part in social activities within their local communities.

We are incredibly grateful to National Lottery players for making this possible and helping us continue our mission of reducing loneliness and social isolation through friendship and connection. 💜

💙 Carers Week 2026 | Building Carer Friendly Communities 💙

At Dates-n-Mates Scotland, we recognise the vital role unpaid carers play in supporting family members, friends and loved ones every day.

As part of Carers Week 2026, we are pleased to share our commitment to working towards becoming a Carer Positive Employer. This reflects our dedication to creating a supportive workplace where carers feel valued, understood and able to balance their caring responsibilities alongside their work.

We know that caring can have a significant impact on many aspects of life, including employment, wellbeing and social connections. By working towards Carer Positive recognition, we aim to build a workplace culture that supports carers and recognises the important contribution they make to our communities.

We were kindly invited to a volunteer celebration event hosted by Engage Renfrewshire this week as part of Volunteers Week.

Dates-n-Mates Renfrewshire volunteers Janice and Danielle attended with Community Engagement and Event Lead, Olivia. They had a wonderful evening of celebrations, great food, and inspiring volunteer stories.

Thank you to Raynor and everyone at Engage Renfrewshire for including us. Some of you may remember Raynor as she previously worked with Dates-n-Mates! It's wonderful to stay connected with her in her new role ❤ and to celebrate the contribution of our fantastic volunteers.

🎤✨ What a Fantastic Night at We've Got Talent! ✨🎤

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part in our We've Got Talent Show. The talent on display was incredible, and it was wonderful to see so many people sharing their skills, confidence and creativity with us! 🌟

We are looking for more volunteers across Scotland with a particular focus on the below roles:

- Event assistant / hosts
- Other event support such as photographers
- Admin assistant (Glasgow office based)

If you'd love to be part of a charity supporting love and friendship for adults with learning disabilities... get in contact with us to discuss these roles or other opportunities that might be a good fit for you.

Dates-n-Mates members are rewarded points for volunteering and getting involved. As a member-led charity this is so important to us... members with lived experience are an active part of everything we do!

Each year, there will be 5 winners (one in each branch) who win a trophy and 6 months free membership!

There are 7 ways to earn points:
⭐ Volunteering at Dates-n-Mates events
⭐ Fundraising for us
⭐ Attending workshops
⭐ Helping with marketing activities
⭐ Sharing ideas and feedback
⭐ Mates points - helping other members
⭐ Personal development and using new skills

Wow we have been having some BEAUTIFUL weather in Scotland🔆

Dates-n-Mates Falkirk and Dates-n-Mates Stirling & Clackmannanshire have timed it wonderfully to host picnic events with their members.
