William will be supporting our love without limits conference and closing the event with a speech on behalf of the Dates-n-Mates board of trustees.

R**eCrisis Grampian offers support and information, across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, to anyone over 11 years old who has been r***d or sexually abused at any time in their life.

Everyone deserves to feel safe, heard and supported. R**e Crisis Grampian works to help people understand r**e and sexual violence, improve the support people receive and work together to stop sexual violence in all its forms.

R**e Crisis volunteers, Erin and Hafsa will join the conference to talk about sexual consent. They will discuss what our rights are, signs of consent, and when there cannot be consent.

This is just one of the things we were discussing this week in our communications strategy meeting, along with words and feelings we associate with Dates-n-Mates.

John Paul, Danny, Fiona, Louise & Dougie had a fantastic afternoon building the foundations... now to get more input from the wider team, members and volunteers.

Donna-Marie is one of the Operations Leads at Dates-n-Mates. Tony is a Dates-n-Mates member who has worked alongside us on many projects.

Tony and Donna-Marie will be giving everyone an insight into our Love and S*x workshops. People often tell us they have not had enough information, advice or support about relationships. This is a good opportunity to find out more about what the workshops cover and how we make it fun as well as educational!

Dancing for Donations 🕺

On Friday 11th September, Dates-n-Mates West of Scotland members will be putting on their dancing shoes for a Dance-a-Thon at The Wynd, Paisley, to raise funds to support our work.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us continue creating opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to build confidence, meet new people and enjoy meaningful social opportunities across Scotland.

Love Without Limits Thursday 10th September ❤ Meet the speaker.

Ruth is the Evidence Lead at the Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities (SCLD).

A few years ago, SCLD released a report called 'Relationships Matter' which showed that people with learning disabilities had fewer friendships and intimate relationships than the general population.

Ruth will talk about this report, and how supporting people with learning disabilities to have relationships if they want to, is really important!

A wonderful free event coming up in Glasgow during Learning Disability Week hosted by Stay Up Late Scotland ❤️

Do you fancy a free inclusive music gig, celebrating the start of Learning Disability week?

With a range of music styles and an accessible venue, if you are able to make it to Glasgow on the 7th of September we would love to see you. We hope people will be able to come from different parts of Scotland, there are some people from the Aberdeen group coming down and staying over.

Alastair is Vice Chair of Stay Up Late Scotland and Project Lead for In Control Scotland.

Stay Up Late Scotland campaigns for the human rights of people in Scotland with disabilities or requiring additional support and works to improve how people are included in community life.

Relationships are a human right. Alastair's interactive discussion will look at some of the things Stay Up Late have noticed make a difference when supporting people around relationships.
