Thenue Housing was established in 1979 and now owns and manages around 3000 properties situated largely within the six Glasgow communities of Calton, Bridgeton and Dalmarnock in the east, Blackhill and Cranhill in the north east, and Castlemilk in the south. Other properties are scattered in the Greater Glasgow area, East Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire.

Paintwork Contract Update

Paintwork contract was recently awarded to Mitie Property Services and works will be carried out between June 2026 – March 2027.

The painting will be carried out at various locations across our stock and may include one or two of the following elements being painted at your property: Close Decoration/ Timber Windows & Fascia's / Timber Fencing.

Mitie Property Services will contact you in advance of the works being undertaken, as this can be subject to change due to weather constraints.

A DOUBLE HELPING OF VOLUNTEERING FROM THENUE!

Two community litter picks within one week to coincide with Volunteers’ Week.

Thenue Housing has served up a double helping of volunteering with two community litter picks within one week.

The events in Castlemilk and Bridgeton coincided with Volunteers’ Week when volunteering takes centre stage.
The aim of Volunteers’ Week is to salute those who selflessly volunteer their time and energy to give back to communities everywhere and shine a spotlight on the values and rewarding benefits of volunteering.

Thenue seized the initiative on volunteering seven months ago by launching its own Volunteering Project under the leadership of Volunteer Co-ordinator Christopher Somerville.

The aim is to provide volunteering opportunities and provide community-led solutions to help families build community relationships and help individuals towards employment.

1️⃣Volunteering event one was a neighbourhood litter pick and garden tidy run by Netherholm Area Association supported by Thenue.

2️⃣Volunteering event two was another litter pick close to the Bridgeton Community Learning Campus in the east end.

The Bridgeton litter pick was greatly assisted by youngsters from nearby Sacred Heart primary school who, despite the rain, toiled enthusiastically and earned the gratitude of everyone involved for their hard work.
Both attracted significant support from the wider community and Thenue staff members.

📣Christopher said: “Volunteers Week brings sharpy into focus the benefits of volunteering, the impact it can have on people’s wellbeing and the results it brings to neighbourhoods.
“Thenue Housing is strongly committed to the concept of volunteering and there is no doubt our project is making a difference in our communities. We are grateful to those who continue to support it.”

Service Update – Netherholm Drop-in

Unfortunately, the Financial Inclusion and Income Maximisation Service drop-in session at Netherholm Community Hall scheduled for Thursday 4th June 2026 has been cancelled.

The service will resume on Thursday 11th June 2026 at the later time of 12:30pm.

In the meantime, any Thenue tenants with urgent queries can:

• Visit our main office at London Road where benefit, money and debt advice is available, or
• Call 0141 550 3581 to arrange a suitable appointment.
