Our colleague in Dundee Food Train, Ryan, is taking on the Kiltwalk to raise money for Food Train!

Ryan is putting himself through the challenge to help raise vital funds for Food Train and support the work we do helping older people across Scotland to live independently.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference and help us continue supporting older people in our communities.

If you can spare anything, please show Ryan your support and donate via his JustGiving page:

At Food Train, we know that strong communities rely on a strong voluntary sector.

Every day, charities and community organisations across Scotland provide vital support that helps people live healthier, more connected and independent lives. To continue making a lasting difference, the sector needs funding that is sustainable, flexible and fair.

That's why Food Train supports the call for Fair Funding. Long-term, accessible funding gives organisations the stability to plan ahead, invest in their people and deliver the support that communities depend on.

We encourage everyone to learn more about the Fair Funding campaign and why it matters for Scotland's voluntary sector.

🎉 Happy 31st Birthday, Food Train! 🎉

Today we're celebrating 31 years of supporting older people to live well at home.

To mark the occasion, we've taken a trip back to 1995 – the year Food Train began. From 23p tins of baked beans and lunchbox favourites to the launch of Cathedral City Cheddar, we've put together a nostalgic look at what was filling supermarket trolleys when our journey started.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Food Train over the past 31 years. Here's to many more years of community, connection and friendship. ❤️

💐 Mother’s Day Appeal 💐

Thanks to the incredible support from communities across Scotland, we’ve raised over £3,300 and welcomed 82 new supporters to Food Train 💛

This generosity means we can continue delivering vital services to older people—helping them stay nourished, connected, and independent at home, so that every older person in Scotland can thrive.

Our appeal also reached more people than ever before. We received new enquiries about our services, connected with people interested in volunteering, and shared Edna’s story more widely—highlighting the real impact of our work.

Whether you donated, shared the appeal, or support Food Train in other ways—thank you. Your support truly makes a difference and helps us reach more older people who need us.
