Could your experience help improve end of life care in Scotland?

After Marie Curie supported her mum during a terminal illness, Caroline wanted to give something back. She joined Marie Curie’s Research Voices Group to help make sure people with lived experience of palliative and end of life care can help shape research and influence positive change.
Caroline said:
“I'm not sure what my family would have done without Marie Curie's support when my mum was terminally ill - they helped us a lot and I wanted to give something back.

I'm quite new to the group, but I've already taken part in fantastic training about the history and work of Marie Curie and had the opportunity to participate in research and campaigns. I hope, by being involved in this friendly group, I can make some small difference to Marie Curie's mission to ensure a better end of life for more people.”

If you have experience of palliative and end of life care and want to use your voice to help shape future research, we’d love to hear from you.

“I have such a deep connection with the Glasgow hospice. My gran passed away there in 2008, and my mum worked there for seventeen years. If, at any point, you find yourself needing to go to the hospice, whether it's as a visitor, a patient, know that it really is a hugely positive place. It's full of not just hope, but so many lovely little pieces of the puzzle that make up a hospice, like yoga classes, coffee mornings, little events that are put on. The drinks trolley that goes around for patients. Volunteer visitors, school groups coming in to sing at Christmas time. So, if you do ever have to go to a Marie Curie hospice, then go with hope and open arms and an open mind, because I can guarantee it's a place that you will leave saying, 'Wow, the work they're doing there is incredible, and that place is absolutely fantastic.'”

In the latest episode of On the Marie Curie Couch podcast, local radio presenter Amber Zoe talks about her family connection with our Glasgow hospice, as well as grief and the power of music.

Easter Sunday Fun! 🐣

We were delighted to welcome a very special visitor — the Easter Bunny — who with our staff helped spread lots of cheer and Easter eggs throughout the day! 🍫🐰

A huge thank you to our incredible kitchen team, who also baked beautiful Easter cupcakes. Moments like these remind us how much compassion, teamwork and love go into making our hospice a place of warmth and comfort — not just at Easter, but every day 💛

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special!
