🏠 WARM HOME DISCOUNT

Could you get ÂŁ150 towards your energy bills this winter?
The Warm Home Discount provides eligible households with a ÂŁ150 rebate each year.

Some energy suppliers are now open for applications, with others opening soon. If you are eligible, it's important to apply as soon as applications open.

The ÂŁ150 rebate is normally applied to your electricity account.
Need help checking if you qualify or making an application?
Our advisors can help come along to our drop in Monday & Wednesday from 9am to 3.30pm

In Scotland, almost 165,000 people don’t have access to a bank accounts. If people don’t have a bank account, basic everyday tasks become impossible. You can’t receive your wages or any payments from benefits. You can’t get a tenancy agreement. And everyday bills are more expensive as you can’t take advantage of cheaper deals offered via direct debt. You are also blocked from accessing affordable credit as banks and lenders often rely on payments going in and out of a bank account.
Particularly affected groups include:
- Ex prisoners
- Refugees
- Those experiencing homelessness
- Victim survivors of domestic abuse
- Undischarged bankrupts
If people are struggling with financial exclusion and getting access to a bank account, they can get in touch with their local CAB for support with opening a Basic Bank Account.
