You may have seen us at the UWS Welcome events this week at the University of the West of Scotland Paisley and Lanarkshire campuses 👋

If you missed us, don’t worry. You can still find out about volunteering with Glasgow Disabled Scouts.

We’re looking for new volunteers to help support children and young people with disabilities to enjoy Scouting, build confidence, try new things and have fun.

You don’t need previous Scouting experience. We’re looking for people who are reliable, enthusiastic and willing to get involved.

Some say chaos, we say first night back at Scouts! 😂

A great night across all our sections. It was brilliant to see all the young people back and to welcome some new volunteers too.

A cracking start to the new term! ⚜️

Last night, our volunteer leadership team came together for another Leadership Session.

With our sessions restarting on Monday 7th September, the evening focused on getting ready for the term ahead, planning future sessions, camps, and looking at how responsibilities can be shared across the team.

It was also a chance to look at how we continue supporting and developing our volunteers in their leadership roles.

Behind every session for our young people is a team of volunteers giving their time, sharing ideas and working together to make it happen.

We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday!

What are you doing with your Monday evenings?

We’re looking for a few more people to join the volunteer team at Glasgow Disabled Scouts.

You don’t need to have been a Scout before and you don’t need any special experience. We’re looking for people who are reliable, friendly and happy to get involved.

You could be helping with activities, having a laugh with our members, trying something completely new or simply being another person there to make the evening work.

In return, you’ll meet some brilliant people, pick up new skills and be part of something that makes a genuine difference.

We meet on Monday evenings in the West End, Shawlands and Cathcart.

Yesterday we had a great morning at the Volunteer Glasgow Fair at Maryhill Burgh Halls!

It was brilliant to meet so many local people, including some who may be interested in getting involved and volunteering with us.
